Just before Christmas 2021, I had my prostate and various lymph nodes removed following a diagnosis of prostate cancer. I am a 59 year old male. I received fantastic care in ARI but was only in hospital for 1 night. I was then discharged with instructions to do pelvic floor exercises to help regain full continence. In fact, I had started the exercises long before my operation but once you are discharged there is not really anyone to oversee that part of the recovery. Wanting to give myself the absolute best chance of recovering full bladder control quickly, I went to see Alison Middleton at ICPC Health in Kintore. I probably had about 10 appointments between December and May. During these appointments, Alison made sure I was doing the pelvic floor exercises correctly and offered suggestions as to how to do them better and to greater effect. Equally important, she offered continued encouragement and support which meant so much to me. She also gave me advice on changes to my diet which helped my general health and recovery at the time. I believe that these appointments with Alison were vital in recovering my continence so quickly no pads after the end of January! as well as providing great support for my mental health which did struggle at times. The opportunity to just sit and chat at length is great. I would thoroughly recommend Alison to anyone in my position or similar. She provided a fantastic service and I am truly grateful to her for it.
I visited the Kintore clinic after having a recent hysterectomy. Ally was so helpful, understanding and quickly ascertained exactly how she could help in my recovery. She's very personable and after a few sessions of advice and physio exercises I was coping a lot better and healing well. I would 100% ICPC and have started online pilates with Ruth too.
We had a few visits to see Alison to help with some issues. After the doctor and other sources, which were all unsuccessful, Alison gave us the light at the end of the tunnel. She was a fantastic help and we've finally made really significant progress when we really were feeling there was nothing we could do. Thank you!
Professional well run clinic - Staff are very knowledgable providing clear and concise treatment plans. As an active outdoor individual I've used icpc on three separate occasions, wouldn't go anywhere else!
I made an appointment for the Wellwoman Clinic with Alison Middleton after finding ICPC in a Google search. I had struggled with pelvic pain for many years and thought I would have to just live with it after everything I had previously tried had made no difference. Alison's knowledge is vast in everything woman's health from pelvic floor issues, peri/menopause, HRT to using her physio knowledge to help improve strength and mobility which has made a huge difference to my recovery. I can't explain how grateful I am for Alison's help as I have been pain free for a couple of months now due to a program she helped me devise with all her tips and advice. I would recommend anyone to go and see her and not to suffer as I did. Ten stars from me!
Have attended this clinic for many years for physiotherapy, chiropody and I also just love my pilates classes. Everyone is so thoroughly professional & friendly. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Special mention of Jane & Alice’s pilates classes but particularly Alice because I don’t think she realises how much we all appreciate her Monday efforts! She is so good at challenging us yet makes special effort to always offer us varying levels to work at which is very much appreciated ! Pilates is just superb & I love the different class styles between instructors. Would highly recommend! Thank you all.
I consulted Grace about calcium requirements post-menopause and received very helpful information about how to ensure I get the amount needed from my diet, particularly as I don’t drink milk. I had no idea how much I should be getting in order to protect myself from osteoporosis, and realised I was not getting anything like the 1200mg daily requirement for post-menopausal women. Grace provided useful advice about how to up my intake along with other information about lifestyle factors to help keep bones strong. It was well worth having this one-off consultation. Thank you Grace, and to Alison for signposting me to her.
My 12 year old daughter, a keen rider, attended an Equestrian Physio Assessment by Physiotherapist, Anna Armstrong. Anna checked her seat, jumping and leg positions using a saddle placed on an adapted gymnastics 'horse' , followed by a thorough examination of her free movement. Anna then designed, demonstrated and observed my daughter executing some simple exercises to achieve improvements in all three areas. As the parent, I was present for the whole session and was impressed with Anna's attention to detail and just how well engaged she got my daughter with the session. Since the appointment, my daughter reports that she feels much more contact with her horse and feels safer all round. I would recommend Anna to any rider who wants to improve their riding experience and to better understand how to improve their body position.
I cannot recommend my Physiotherapist Colin Davidson highly enough. I attended with an injury I had been unable to get a diagnosis for from my GP as they were not seeing anyone face to face. Colin fitted me in quickly , examined and taped my ankle . I left armed with exercises and carried these out religiously over the next few weeks. Colin kept suggesting I get an X-ray which proved difficult due to the COVID restrictions at the time. 7 weeks on an MRI confirmed I had a fractured ankle. Luckily for me due to Colin’s skill and knowledge my ankle had healed well and in the correct position. I compete at Canicross with my dog across the UK . Being able to run is a huge part of my life both for competition and more so my mental health . Colin is always supportive and takes onboard your situation and aims. Mine was to compete in Wales at a National series April . At times this seemed a distant hope however we have just returned from this having won a gold medal in my category. I know 100 % without Colin’s knowledge and skill we would never have achieved this .
I can't recommend Inverurie Chartered Physiotherapy Clinic enough. My daughter has suffered for over two years with patella instability and hypermobility throughout her joints, especially her hips, knees and ankles. We turned here after really struggling to access the help that she needed on the NHS. The clinicians were fantastic! Friendly, kind, supportive and worked together to help my daughter make real progress. After a lot of intensive physiotherapy, guided by Colin and some great work from the podiatrist Ros, my daughter is back playing netball and able to attend full days at school. She is a long way from the girl that hobbled in. Such a professional team who really put my daughter at the centre. Thank you for everything you have done for her, you really have helped turn her life around.
