Solved all my problems after 8 week struggle
Ordered 2 worktops in advance so as to save the usual half hour wait to be served and wait for the goods,not really one for writing reviews but ended up standing for 45 minutes then having the exit blocked by a truck until the driver was found,felt the staff knew I was in a hurry and delays were on purpose,I had to call to re arrange picking up my kids,and the joint compound that was meant to be brought out but by that time and getting blocked in I just wanted to get out,not the first time I’ve stood for ages waiting to get served but usually give a bit more time as I know it’s likely to be a long wait,for the record this is a common gripe amongst fellow tradesmen at ids,surely the desk requires more staff
Great selection but at extortionate pricesnnIf you like me are not trade then expect to robbed by IDS. They offer a great selection of products and I know that they are the supplier to a lot of other companies in the local area. However, I needed to buy some extra Quickstep flooring that I needed at short notice and couldn't believe the markup they were putting on their prices.nnFor example, I needed a pack of flooring that I'd bought online for £34 a pack. The additional pack from IDS was £47. To put that into context, the same flooring is £21.99 per square metre from Quickstep. From IDS it's £26.11 a square meter. IDS are charging over 18% more than the manufacturer.nnAnd I also needed a threshold bar that I could find online at around £19 but needed immediately. From IDS it was a staggering £31. That's an increase of more than 60% from the online price.nnSo, they've probably got what you need and can get hold of what they don't have in stock at short notice but be prepared to pay exorbitant prices for the privilege.nnMy advice would be to shop around online. Definitely not recommended.
