Food was very good for a central London tourist area. Staff were very polite and cheerful. Place had a great atmosphere as it was quite busy. The entrance of the restaurant is beautiful with the statues and the bridge over the river. Restaurant was very clean and tidy. It was also very easy to get hold of a staff member if needed. They also removed used plates very quickly so the table was always clear if any clutter
We became aware of Imperial China after seeing it mentioned quite a lot in the comments on a You Tube video where two guys who were trying different places out in China Town. We were down in London on holiday and me and my girlfriend decided to try it out. From the second we went in we really liked the place. We loved the Koi Carp in the pond as we walked in, and it was a nice quiet and relaxing atmosphere. We were approached by a member of staff who took us to our table. We found that the Imperial China did not feel cramped like some places do and there was plenty of room to get in and out from your table. We ordered prawn crackers and sesame prawn toast for appetisers. The prawn crackers were the best we have ever tasted. The sesame prawn toast again was the best I've tasted, it had plenty of prawns on it which were lovely and plump and juicy, and the sesame top was lovely and crispy and perfectly cooked. For our main I got curried chicken with steamed rice and my girlfriend got pork chops with honey and lemon and steamed rice. The curry was absolutely delicious. Abundant amounts of chicken, green and red peppers, the rice was perfectly cooked and was not soggy or sticky, and the curry had plenty of heat with it and was lovely and creamy in taste, and I would go as far as saying the nicest I've had anywhere. My girlfriend informed me that her main was absolutely delicious. The pork was lovely and moist and tender and was perfectly cooked, and the honey and lemon sauce tasted beautiful. The steamed rice was perfectly cooked and was not soggy or sticky. The staff were the friendliest we have experienced from the various places we have been to in China Town. We didn't wait long for our food to arrive and found the service excellent. Also the place was really clean and it was nice to see linen table cloths rather than the paper ones you see quite a lot. I have no complaints at all and needless to say that when we are next down in London, we will be heading straight to Imperial China when we go to China Town.
Absolutely fantastic Chinese restaurant in Londons china town. Fast service with a friendly tone. Full duck between 5 was soooo good. Ordered way too much food but was all cooked to perfection. Very glad we chose to eat here. The salt and pepper squid and sweet and sour pork were my favouritesFood: 5/5
The restaurant has an attractive entrance, with stone elephants and bridge before coming to the actual interior. But deco becomes quite bland once inside. We had mostly dim sums which I would say was average in London. Dumpling skins were a bit on the thick side. Cheung funs rice pancakes, on the other hand, were good. The only main dish we had was mixed vegetable fried noodle. This was only average. Service was very good though. One of the better ones in Chinatown.
Last Wednesday we celebrated SDC established 40 years anniversary in the big karaoke room with bunch of colleagues. We enjoyed very much the good food and good wines , it was a very fun karaoke nightWe will definitely come back for our company Christmas party hereFood: 5/5
Love this place! 3rd time in 8 years. Came with a large family group of 30 for lunch, and then with my 10 year old son before a show and now with my husband before a show. Great tasting food, reasonably priced for London and super fast service.Food: 5/5
Been coming to this place for years and brought so many fam and friends here. And also feel comfy on my own whenever I fancy dimsum before heading home after work. Always have the best food, servers and atmosphereFood: 5/5
This used to be a good restaurant I’m not sure if they have changed the chef. We are Chinese and this was terrible we ate one bowl each and took the rest home cause it was just not good food. We spent £140 and could have gotten a better meal from a local small town takeaway. Duck pancake - the duck portion was tiny and dry Chicken/crab sweetcorn soup - bland and needed salt and seasoning Crispy noodles black bean sauce - not enough sauce and noodles were all clumped together Shrimp Stuffed aubergine, pepper and tofu - there was not enough shrimp in the stuffing mix, it was very mushy like it was mostly corn flour. The stuffing did not have that bouncy shrimp texture Choi sum - over cooked no flavour. Needed oyster sauce & garlic Salt & pepper squid - batter was too thick and had no flavour Fujin rice - bland with a strange herbal taste The only upside to this experience was the service from the non Chinese staff. The south Asian waiters was very friendly and helpful. The Chinese staff were rushed and did not provide a nice experience I am always happy to pay for a good meal and tip generously but this was a bad experience and we will not be coming back
I ate here once and came back two weeks later because I liked it so much. Both times the taste was excellent. I had the vegan Singapore noodles. The service was very fast as well and the restaurant is more spacious than other places in Chinatown I've been to. It's even got a Koi pond at the entrance. Vegetarian options: Singapore noodles - all vegan
I had been dine in in this restaurant for years but really disappointed me when I had Dim Sum yesterday. One bite into a prawn dumpling I had to spit it out because of its strange smell, it was likes musty smell and disgusting, which make I think straight away that this food had been left in the freezer for long time. I called a lady staff and tell her the problem, she said sorry then try to replace with a new one but I asked to cancel that dish. Floor Manager is standing from reception desk but not coming to explain anything so I asked to see him. He just say sorry, I asked him" it isn't fresh makes is it?" He says "it is fresh make ". I didn't believe him. If it's fresh makes, I'm sure that you don't get that nasty musty smell. I paid full price and left with worrying about foods they served
