IKEA Leeds A Loyal Customer's Disappointment. As a longtime admirer of IKEA's stylish, affordable products, I have often praised the brand for its innovative designs and commitment to quality. However, my recent experiences at the Leeds branch have left me feeling frustrated and disappointed, casting a shadow over my otherwise positive perception of the brand. First and foremost, I understand that renovations can cause temporary disruptions; however, the lack of effective signage during this period has been particularly disheartening. The temporary signs do little more than confuse customers, making it feel like navigating a maze with no clear path to the exit. On my last two visits, I found myself going around in circles, which was not only irritating but also left me feeling slightly nauseous. I urge IKEA to reconsider their current temporary signage. Clear, intuitive directions are essential to maintaining a positive shopping experience, something that has noticeably deteriorated in recent weeks. Another area of concern has been the customer service and staffing levels in the food hall. On multiple occasions, I have encountered long queues, with only one line open during peak time, something that seems to be a recurring issue every time I visit. it is also disheartening to see staff members gathered in groups around the store while the food hall struggles to keep pace with customer demand. This lack of effective staff allocation has led to long wait times that detract from the overall shopping experience. With these challenges in mind, I find myself in a tough spot. I still love the products and the fair pricing that IKEA offers, but the current state of the Leeds branch leaves much to be desired. If you're considering a trip in the near future, I would recommend postponing your visit until the renovations are completed. I hold onto hope that my beloved IKEA will address these issues swiftly. A little investment in customer experience now will surely pay off when the store reopens in full swing. Until then, here's to a brighter future for my favourite home furnishing destination.
Got there near opening time on a weekend. It was so busy already but everything is arranged so well that things still flowed. Brilliant location. They looked to be doing some refurbishment. Also the kids area is great and they do their best to help with special needs children too.
Well stocked ikea located between plenty of other shops for you to have a day out. Prices are well affordable, plenty of range, good parking and restaurant with treats and vegetarians options, good navigation with staff to help in middle, self checkout along with manned ones, as well as plenty of large shopping bags you can buy for other purposes. It gets extremely crowded on weekends unless one wants to go early, which we did and it worked out.
By the time I get to the food, I'll have been queuing for 55 minutes, 1 person serving and handling the beeping fryers. Think they have an offer on so should have staffed up. No warning how long the queue will be but it doesn't appear too long but very slow moving and it s bends so much longer.
Typical IKEA shopping experience, located a short distance away from junction 27 of the M26. Currently May 2024 undergoing some renovation and improvements to the store. Mostly no impact on the shopping experience, however the store is looking tired and a little dated.
Was alright. Not too busy and had what we needed. Very disappointed that there wasn’t vegan ice cream. The machine was missing.
Busy, but good to know the shortcuts as I didn’t have time to stroll round as normal. My friend and I always enjoy our free family card coffee 1/2 way through our shopping stroll through the store
Click and collect is a horror show. Be careful when you go, it can get really busy and their new policy is to hold it for that day only. So if its busy, you'll be in for a very long wait and if you don't have time then you'll loose the product. Which doesn't mean you get a refund automatically, you'll need to go to the customer service desk in person for that. If you can shop without using that, e.g. getting it straight from the warehouse without having to collect from that desk, then its ok...
Haven't been to IKEA for well over a year and what a shock I got. The whole store seemed in disarray, the prices like everything seemed so expensive. The food shop at the end had removed many if it's items . Went to the cafe for a drink and something to eat and I won't be going again. The lady serving was rude to say the least, there were two young men in the tills and they were making fun of two young autistic boys who were in the queue in front of me. The tables were dirty, and most of the staff wouldn't know what customer service was if it bit them on the bum
Love IKEA! Design inspiration, good storage solutions, and nice food as a welcome bonus when i've finished shopping! The Leeds store is always clean and the staff are helpful.
