Ian Redfern is a fellow engineer and I’ve met him a few times on training courses. He is always extremely helpful and has a vast abundance of knowledge for the industry. He will always go the extra mile to do the best job he can. Thoroughly recommend him.

We can highly recommend Ian. Very professional and knowledgeable. We had a problem with our gas boiler and although it was not urgent matter we arranged appointment within 2 days. He identified problem quite quickly, temporarily fixed it and suggested the long term solution. Again, next appointment was within few days and job carried out was very professional. Will certainly use Ian's services in the future

Ian did a landlord check on a boiler for us and installed access panels to a flu pipe. This was quite a major job which involves cutting holes in the ceiling. He did a great job and I was very impressed

Ian is a colleague who I respect a lot for his knowledge and expertise is this field, I wouldn't hesitate to have this very competent engineer work in my home.. keep up the great work Ian !!

I called Ian out of desperation. I am living in one of those eco houses at Oxley park and my heating was playing up. Ian came out the same day I called him and identified that the system was wired up wrongly - and billed me 90gbp for the work. That evening I tried running the system but the hot water wouldnt trigger...so I messaged him and he agreed to come out the next day. He suggested that it would be better to rewire the system instead of trying to guess which part of the installation was wrong and I agred to let him do that - which would take approximately 3 hours to do. I have no faith in the site plumber that Taylor Wimpey had appointed...who were notoriously hard to get hold of at short notice and I have a newborn baby and mother in law at home with potentially no hot water or no heating over the Xmas period. Within the first hour he had identified that the timer was faulty and had bypassed it allowing my hot water to work again. He didnt ask for more money but agreed to the 90GBP bill to cover both visits since he had not solved the problem on the first visit. Along the way he had at first thought that the builder had not fitted a bypass valve but infact they had fitted one in an out of reach area. He then advised me that it wouldnt be necessary to fit an automatic one even though it wasnt the best practice not to have one but in the interest of keeping costs under control it would be best to adopt a wait and see approach instead of spending more money unnecessarily. It is this kind of approach and honesty that has made me want to use him going forward for all my plumbing heating and gas issues and I will be booking him to do my annual service from now on. Given that being registered as a gas safety qualified engineer can cost around 3K a year he could easily have advised me to spend more money but he didnt. Highly recommended. Knowledgeable. I feel lucky to have found him.
