Today’s special. The best chowder I’ve ever eaten. It has the intriguingly paradoxical quality of being refreshingly creamy! The fish chunks has the texture of a scallop! Main: veggie getting all the favour of salmon, perfectly cooked. A lemon tart, a large tea & stared at the port of Dover.
Went here for a date with my girlfriend. Entered around 6pm and the restaurant was pretty much empty. The staff were very nice and attentive, however rushed us a bit to quick to order our dishes. For starters I paid 9£ for Calamari. There were only 6 calamari on the plate, and these would fall apart after a bite. The quantity and quality for the price is ridiculous. Then to the main dish. I got Sea Bass with mixed vegetables. The Sea Bass was not caught locally or was fresh, to my disappointment I asked the staff for verification. The display was very lackluster, and the food was decent despite not having much to eat for the price. In the end, the staff are the only ones keeping the rating up as the food is very overpriced.
Great place by the sea. The wait staff were all very attentive. The only comment I have is the food. It's not amazing and not that fresh. The boiled platter was very bland and the muscles were so tiny that it's not worth the effort.
Been here twice and absolutely love the place. The food is wonderful, the view is phenomenal, and the service is amazing. Huge shout out to Robin and Mike who were the sweetest and best servers we had. Especially Robin who put up with my random questions about the options as well as helping us break a 20 . If you are looking for something good to eat I recommend the Prawn Noodles. It’s the perfect portion not too much and not too little, very filling, and delish. I definitely reccomend ordering a side of vegetables to get your veggies in. The burger is the other item we tried. The meat was well cooked but due to the vegetables weird placement it caused the bun to be soggy by the time it was served. So I suggest sticking to the seafood main courses. Super big fan of the New Zealand Misty Cove wine. Goes very well with the baked Camembert. That cheese is amazing! Very nicely warmed to a melting point and they add some honey to make it slightly sweet. Personally wasn’t a fan of the Quintero White wine from Spain but that’s just a personal preference I feel as my boyfriend loved it. If you are looking for an amazing dessert you honestly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. My favorite item on the list is the cream brûlée . If you are a chocolate fan then the brownie with vanilla ice cream is a must. It is beyond soft and warm making the mix with cold ice cream an amazing combination. Alternatively, if you want something light but sweet I loved the Lemon Tart. It was the right amount sweet/sour but didn’t leave me feeling beyond full. Seating in the restaurant is difficult because everyone wants the window seat and they are always reserved. Therefore make sure to make a reservation if that is what you want. Otherwise I recommend the upper seats as they have a wonderful view of the entire restaurant and the water view. Especially fun if you like people watching . Overall, I highly reccomend this place.
Enjoy the wide views of the harbour, the doughty swimmers and neighbouring ferries coming and going from the elevated DOVER PATROL CAFE RESTAURANT over a pleasant coffee or lunch - unfortunately not yet? breakfast. Bafflingly under-subscribed for its huge potential and attentive staff, it would benefit from larger, less cluttered signage / branding externally and to indicate its entrance, being above the Water Sports Centre. Head for the van Gogh-like lifting bridge to the inner marina, along the seafront past the elegant crescent, look left and you're there. A new owner is seemingly being sought to lift and refresh this waterside gem. Do go there!

We had lunch at the Dover Patrol today, August Bank holiday Sunday. The view out over the beach and the two sections of the harbour was perfect. The meal was well presented and good quality. Parking: There are car parks and street parking nearby but it has to be paid for using a mobile app and it is now quite expensive. Wheelchair accessibility: There was a lift up to the restaurant.
Couldn't fault anything,the staff were friendly the food was out of this world ,drinks were good the whole restaurant was clean is was perfect . Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options
Brilliant, delicious food, beautiful setting and lovely staff. If your looking for a fish restaurant then this is it.
Absolutely amazing!!’ The fish was cooked to perfection and so fresh, it just melted I your mouth!! Party of 9 and all plates were clean! The waiters and waitresses were very polite and were very knowledgeable of the menu and wines available. Such a welcoming atmosphere and the view of the ocean just was the icing on the cake! We all gave our complainants to the Chef! Amazing work!! Will recommend to friends and family!!
