Lovely place in a lovely location, then woman who owns it is mad as a box of frogs, it made for a very interesting conversation around the breakfast table (breakfast was top class)

A really rather strange B&B. Seemingly run single-handedly by the owner. It's been a very long time since I stayed in a non-ensuite room of any sort whatsoever (be that hotel, motel, B&B, whatever) but this room, despite it being a non-shared bathroom, needed access to the landing area to get to the bathroom, which bizzarely had no shower in it at all. Not even hand-held shower head over the bath. Not ideal. Room itself was clean and tidy, but oddly had no TV in it, again, something I have not seen in a long time. Tiny car-park, meaning you had to park in the order you were going to leave in the morning, and breakfast had to be booked the night before... and boy do you have to be precise. If you're 5 mins late down, your breakfast will be in the oven keeping warm and going dry! Breakfast itself was very good, sat round a communal table in a kitchen, although you have to walk through what is clearly the laundry room to get there... another strange layout. The biggest gripe was that you cannot pay with a credit or debit card, meaning the only option is cash or a bank transfer there and then. For business travel with a company chargecard, this is less than ideal, and particularly bad to find out this is the case *after* you've booked in and it's too late to find anything else. The reciept you get is a joke too... not even on a headed note paper, just a typed e-mail. All in all, a very odd experience.
