Tried frustratingly to contact the Carlisle Branch of HSBC as we have accounts there. There is only a central uk number that is the contact for all enquiries and this form of contact is less than useless!!! You are kept on hold for what seems to be an age, listening to dreadful classical music until you eventually give up in a rage. If you are lucky and someone does answer the phone ( and they could be anywhere in the world), they then suggest passing you on to another number where once again you end up listening to classical music and end up equally frustrated! After approx 1hour you have lost the will to live and end the telephone frustration. HSBC customer service is quite frankly in my opinion abysmal.

Had an appointment with an adviser which I was unable to make. As she gave me her card, I tried to phone and advise her that I couldn't make the appointment. Number on card takes you through to an automated system at a central location somewhere. Tried for 20 minutes then gave up.Don't know why she gave me a card in the first place. Totally useless

I bank with them for almost ten years now, I've seen better offers from other banks but I think I'm just too lazy to switch. Maybe one day, unless they start rewarding existing customers much better.

Needed to make an appointment to register a Power of Attorney on behalf of mu aunt and the "automated" system was useless.Told average wait time for responding to calls was 25 minutes! Thank goodness I personally don't bank here.
