Lovely shop. I am so Sorry to see this particular Birkenhead branch closing. It was ways a great place to pick up that extra special something for a birthday or a special occasion. The person centred service woll be missed as the staff could not do enough for you. Nothing was too much trouble and there has always been a wide range of beautiful gifts and clothing to choose from.
House of Fraser are really trying to bring the customers through the door with some good brands.Personally i like the Raging Bull range where as my wife is more of a Phase Eight person.Love the shop but heartbreaking as more staff than customers. Just hope it doesn't close as the only shop worth visiting in Birkenhead town centre.Staff are always very friendly just wish the shop was busier with customers. If you enjoyed reading my review and looking at the photos then don't forget to like them.Sad update to report closing at the end of March 2020.
The place is like a ghost town. Think I only saw 1 other customer, but lots of staff on ground floor. Shop is large and sells well known brands, and perfumes , although cheaper in the fragrance shop or perfume shop. I was doing a return , which all went smoothly with a pleasant member of staff.
Love this shop they don’t always have what I need but the girls are really friendly and order it in for me next day for free and with Marks and Spencer gone it’s the only department store left. The cafe is great as well it’s so big and light we do our Mother and toddler group here and they are really accommodating!!
Really sad this place is closing down. Mike CAshley was supposed to have saved it!. He's filled it with sports direct junk and grossly overpriced designer wear despite 20% off closing down sale. Unfortunately this is another nail in the coffin for Birkenhead shopping centre. Shame. Update on this store. Its been saved. Its now full of the same stuff without the sale!! How they think anyone would go to Birkenhead and spend £70 on a raging bull jumper is beyond me. The shop had more staff than customers yesterday. They do have a huge line in suitcases. I would suggest they use them to pack up all their stock and start afresh otherwise even with Frank Field's help it will close again.
Very depressing as the store is about to close. It's always been a fine store but Birkenhead is a dying, down at heel town and Beatties as it was always called has had its day. I'm very sad to see it go. I'm sorry for the staff who will inevitably lose their jobs and I wish them every good wish for the future.
Restaurant not open and starting to look more like sports direct every day. It's a real shame as I have nice memories of eating there with my nan when I was younger. No doubt Mike Ashley will ruin this place like he has at St James Park.
The store seems to be staggering on into eventual closure and/or oblivion. What was once the only reliable cafe in the district now charges London prices for the most appalling machine made coffee. Children's snack boxes at £3.95 and stale scones forming part of overpriced 'afternoon tea' @£4.00 may explain the absence of customers. Forgotten how it feels to encounter staff who truly don't care
Old-fashioned & outdated shopping similar to how BHS and Littlewoods was unfortunately. Let's just hope Mike Ashley's recent takeover has a positive effect for both customers and employees alike ⏳time will only tell⌛.
Love this shop. Shame that there aren't as many staff as there used to be, can mean a wait to be seen and served. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly though, full marks!
