What a lovely, caring hospital. From admission through A&E to discharge later in the evening I experienced the highest standards of care and compassion. Staff were absolutely rushed off their feet, and the department was so busy that patients were sharing cubicles, but every interaction I observed was unhurried, kind and professional, despite some some quite challenging behaviour from a small number of patients. Lots of tests were carried out, every option explored, and I went home feeling as if the health professionals at that hospital really cared about me as an individual. Thanks to all!
We are SO lucky to have such great service at Worthing. Very often people moan about waiting for hours in A&E's. If anyone moans about Worthing, they need to ask themselves how serious their health issue was at the time because I've had to attend a few times in the last year and, either they've mistaken me for someone very famous/important not likely or, they are doing a superb job because I've not waited longer than a few minutes! THANKS TO ALL THE STAFF, YOU'RE AMAZING
The Endoscopy Dept treated my mum Mrs OSullivan so very well yesterday during her colonoscopy..pre and post care too were excellent and this is so reassuring in times of stress. Mr Hussain, Sr Margaret , Nurse Sarah and sweet receptionists all deserve a huge hug.
My daughter has appointment cancelled for a breast screening because of a lump and they can’t see her with in the two weeks like they are meant to it was four weeks and now at the 11th hour they messaged her to say they have cancelled her appointment. This is a forgivable Do you know the fear that people go through when they think that you might have a condition like cancer? I’m sure there’s a lot of people out there that do understand that and have their appointment cancelled just an forgivable
UTC clearly couldn't care less about patients and offer a disgustingly woeful service that could easily become dangerous. Breast team are no better - 3 days in hospital with a baby, separated from toddler, to be told it's not urgent enough even though they didn't see the patient once and sent home without any help and no indication of when the issue might be sorted. With zero direct communication. Should be ashamed. Different people give vastly different information and directions and it's obvious they don't actually communicate with one another.
Arrived at A&E today, booked myself in on the registration screen at 2.00pm. The waiting area was very busy, but surprisingly I was triaged, then see by the doctor who performed a small operation, all within 3 hour. Excellent service and special thank you to all the staff it was a pleasant experience throughout.
What a wonderful hospital after my experience having a mental breakdown and Sezuire. I loved how even when I was violent don’t remember due to aeful king blackout that they helped me get back on my feet. Eartherm ward were fantastic and so were all these other wards that must have looked after me even though I dont remember. The nurses were fantastic to the drs. Also I loved the food. I only had one issue which were the loud emergency button for nurses when patients needed help. Should definitely find an improvement as I was waking up so much but no big deal. Sadly lost green cup but hopefully I find it but I already got a replacement cup. Let’s hope the Nebido injection I can sort out and haven't had it after hearing I was locking myself in the toilet flushing medicine down the toilet but I don’t remember a thing. Thank you so much Worthing/st Richard you’re both amazing and again so sorry if I were ever violent to your wonderful staff as I was told by many I was and again I’m so sorry. Lastly I do think you could possibly improve your wifi as I could only use What’s app, messenger and Facebook.
yesterday, i had to go to a and e in worthing hospital after being attacked by a dog. i wasn’t on my seat for 5 minutes before the first nurse came to get me. i remember him emphasising how to breathe and telling me several times that i was safe now. i was taken straight through to the next department where the nurse hadn’t had a break all shift and still spent 3+ hours with just me, tending to the wounds, doing emergency checks on my eye, getting medications, giving an injection. she made me a welcome mug of tea but i didn’t see her have one or relax. An out of hours Eye Specialist came from Chichester to assess my eye and to ensure scarring would be as minimal as possible. individual members of staff carrying the nhs through this crisis … the nhs at its best … PRECIOUS and PRICELESS! why exactly are we humiliating our nhs staff by ignoring their voices and causing them to strike? Thank you NHS Worthing - my gratitude, my respect!
What is happening with this hospital? Consultant letters taking weeks to get to GPs & patients. Example : Urologist at St Richards, Chichester, dictated letter to GPcopy to my husband on 13/12/22 despite being under care of Worthing hospital; typed 22/12/22; posted 2nd class 2/1/23; received 5/1/23 i.e.23 days & before the excuse of postal disruptions this has happened several times over the last yearwell before postal strikes & on 1 occasion it took 8 weeks. Where exactly in the world are letters processed & why?Is it just a money saving gimmick because there is no overall saving if patient care suffers as a result.
Appalling a&e . Dirty and apart from the nice nurses although seemingly inexperienced the staff and doctor had disgraceful bedside manners. The doctor simply seemed heartless and uncaring and frankly bored. No pain relief offered and other peoples used / full bed pans with no covering placed next to our bed i whilst the nurse spoke to us. This was a regular occurance I noted. The two porters outside were very helpful and polite but even with my last breath I would not go to Worthing a&e again . Extremely distressing and stressful day . I must point out this was A&E . We have had nothing but the best since in the wards and resuss. A totally different experience there .
