Hoot The Redeemer

About

Hoot The Redeemer is where your fortune comes in Alcoholic form. Its a bar with a wonderful twist from the Award winning team that gave you Panda & Sons.

Story

It’s the 1950s and you are in New Orleans embracing a vintage funfair. There’s a Tarot reader ahead of you, a claw crane machine on your left, and an ice cream parlour on your right with a happy ice cream pot on the sign. No, this isn’t the beginning of a very strange dream – it’s what it’ll feel like walking into Hoot The Redeemer. Our ethos is that we aren’t a serious bar but we take having fun very seriously. Dive in and make your wish!

Hidden little cocktail bar down stairs and behind a secret door. Very fun and quirky! We did walk in and manage to get a seat near the bar but I would recommend booking in advance as they was very busy. Great choice of cocktails which are very tasty but quite strong. Loved the different decor! Seems to be very popular as there was a queue to get in when we was leaving. Would recommend a visit!
What a quirky little speakeasy bar, the staff will just create you any random cocktail and you just have to tell them 3 flavours or ingredients that you like. Love how creative that is. Would definitely recommend and I will 100% be going back. You would barely notice it from the street which only adds to the intrigue of the place.
I loved this place. It was recommended by one of the bartenders at a different bar in Edinburgh Lucky Liquor. It’s a nice spot to chill with friends and grab a nice drink. I had their Old Fashioned which was finished with a spray of Lagavulin absolutely loved it. I forget the name of the other drink but it was minty creamy and finished with shavings of a mint chocolate. The staff is friendly and helpful. Overall I had a great time!
Excellent cocktails and a really cool speakeasy style bar! Hidden behind a door with a fortune teller. Love the claw machine where you choose cocktail ingredients, so much fun!
It's a great experience! The staff are attentive, and they know their cocktails. The Pinch & Sip claw machine is hilarious, and makes your night an interesting one to see what the bar staff can come up with. Highly recommended, and if you enjoyed this, also try the sister bar "Panda & Sons"
Great little ‘hidden’ spot. Bartenders great at making cocktails based on likes/dislikes. Really enjoyed the ‘pinch and sip’ machine!
Had a great night out for a first date. Really good cocktails and atmosphere. Friendly staff as well. Claw game cocktail was fun and they let you alter the ingredient if you don't get quite what you wanted. Boozy ice cream was good. Just a warning as of the time of this review, July 2022, the tarot menu on the website is different to that of the one they have inside.
This is a really nice themed bar, pre-covid would have been even cooler as there's no popcorn any more and you're just served ice-cream instead of using the machine. Nonetheless, the alcoholic ice-cream is delicious and the drinks are really varied. I had ordered a drink that I really wasn't enjoying and the waiter was happy to get me a different drink for no charge.
Came on a weekday with colleagues to check it out so the vibe was a bit more subdued inside.. You can certainly walk by the place if you don't see the sign. Down the stairs, push on the fortune teller and you're there. Friendly service, great menu - especially if you want a cocktail of which they have many. There's even a machine where you can grab randomly choose flavors and they will mix something for you..neat idea. This really is just a drinking establishment and one of the many speakeasy's in town. Worth checking out for some quirky fun.
Found the atmosphere to be really pleasant in here, loved the decor and the themed cocktails. Would recommend the Taps Aff which tasted amazing which is great as it's quite a pricey place. The only disappointment was that we visited to try the alcoholic icecream and found that it's not an option at this moment in time.
