The cafe here is a hidden gem around this area if you fancy a cheap canteen style meal. Cash only. Small menu. Eat before you shop. I had the wonton noodle soup and roast pork with rice. Then headed home to sleep off the feast.
I love this place - so spacious, well-organised and quiet compared to other oriental food shops. The staff are all so kind and helpful if you are looking for something a little a little obscure. The cafe upstairs is delightful - such delicious, authentic food served quickly and with a smile. Very reasonable prices all round. I was particularly pleased with pretty blue and white salt shakers for 12p!!
The cafeteria upstairs is outstanding, you're missing out if you don't get something. It doesn't look like much but don't be fooled, the food is authentic, fresh and extremely flavourful. It's also extremely consistent, I've been multiple times and it's always been great. Highly recommend the chicken and sweetcorn soup, salt and pepper pork chop, beef brisket rice and the coconut chicken curry.
Apart from the supermarket which is very complete with plenty of ingredients to prepare everything you could imagine at a fair price, the best for me is the restaurant. Omg I was feeling so so good and food delicious. It reminded me to my home town in Spain, very small rural village. I had the same feeling when in this restaurant. The owner didn't know too much English but enough to understand you, smile, typical oriental family doing their duty while attending us. To me it felt like if I was in China and a native family invited me for dinner at their house. Restaurant wasn't properly a restaurant as such because decoration was poorly but again it wasn't at all important to me. No need for booking, no waiting times, delicious food and good prices. It is written only cash but you can also pay by bank transfer. Different experience. I felt like at home. Seriously.
The supermarket has allot of variety and usually very fresh produce. A bit out of the way for us - but worth the drive. But the real gem is the restaurant upstairs! Like others have mentioned, ITS CASH ONLY. So go prepared. This family run restaurant is, without a doubt, the best Chinese I've had so far in London. The food is served hot and you can see it being made fresh. Yes, there gentlemen serving tables does not speak much english, but I don't speak Chinese - LOL. And none of this matters because he was very patient and was over the top with service. The portions are huge and I thought the prices very affordable. The best thing for me is that THEY SERVE HO FUN NOODLES!!! One of the only places in London I've found so far to have them. I will definitely be back next time I'm in London!
No frill kinda of café. Good quality and a pretty extensive menu - usual Cantonese favourites. Super convenient post/pre shopping. Interesting setup amongst all the merchandise on 1st floor. Closed every Tuesday. CASH ONLY.
Heard this had re-opened after some time being closed and had heard the food was better than before - absolutely correct on both fronts. Arrived quite late, about 3pm, cash only so had to run off and get some - not an issue but worth noting. Excellent smaller selection of classic siu mei & dimsum with some rice and noodle dishes as well. Food was prepared quickly and was all delicious, especially the char siu, siu app and the soy sauce chicken. Very friendly staff, observing strict hygiene practices - would have been nice to have contactless but it's only just opened. Will be back
We came here at weekday very quiet that it has broad range of oriental foods. The cafe at the mezzanine level is average.
One of the cheapest Chinese supermarket in London with good standard produce and fresh seafood. Although the decor is dated compared to their competitors, but this does not affect the quality of their stock. The cafe upstairs serves delicious limited menu food. Unfortunately, today is their last day before they close for a few weeks during this lockdown due to reduced customer numbers. Visited here around 5pm today Friday and was not busy and social distancing practiced well by all.
Our to-go place for buying oriental products. Best thing is we always find halal products.
