3rd Dec 2022, used the Park & ride at Honiton, Barton Grange, parking was really easy and straight onto one of the two buses waiting. The driver explained there's only ONE stop. However this "only ONE stop" is not where you catch the return bus. You have to go to the New bus station, although nearby none of it is clear or well explained. Two buses did eventually arrive All things considered it was better than driving in the queues for car parking
First time using since the pandemic began and I won’t be back. 30 minute wait for a bus, the price had increased to £4.50 and picks up at bus stops going into the city. This isn’t a Park & Ride service any more - all the signs promising a fast and frequent service are just annoying! The driver was the only good aspect - efficient, friendly and polite
I used the Honiton Road Park and Ride facility on my first visit to Exeter. I was confused by the Google Map app which directed me to the exit of the Car Park rather than the exit. Though twenty minutes of driving around the industrial estate later I discovered the entrance. It is the only reason I have marked this a 4 rather than 5 star. We parked the car in a large spacious car park and within ten minutes were on the bus into the City of Exeter. At the cost of £4.50 per person for the return journey and cost of parking it is a far easier way of accessing the city centre compared to trying to drive through the limitations of a Medieval designed city. If visiting again I would certainly use this car park - as long as I could access the entrance not the exit when following Google Maps directions.
Please sort out the signage at the Honiton Road bus stop. No clue about cancellation of service as signs were inside the bus shelter. So simple to put some on the outside where everyone can see them . Travelled last Friday. Driver helpful . Wouldn't want his job
AVOID! Not used the park and ride since the pandemic. Won’t be using it again. As the other comments say, no longer an efficient park and ride service just a general bus route. Had to wait 30 mins for return bus which then took over an hour to get back. Pick up point changed. Not everyone could get on and only a single decker. All very inefficient.
Forget all the info you are likely to read. this is no longer a park and ride. no longer £2 return, nor every 7mins buses. Now need to catch Stagecoach bus with a 4 in the number and pay 4.50 return and they run every half hour. We turned up at the bus stop to find 60 - 70 people already in the queue, some of which couldn't get on the previous bus as it was too full. We then couldnt get on the next bus as that was also too full so spent nearly 1 hour stood on a freezing bus stop,. Please park somewhere else - these people do not deserve your money.
Super easy and fast to get in and out of town. You don’t have to park or even drive as you can take the bus even way. Shirt travel to town, bus stops everywhere and frequent service. Highly recommend
Not great. No buses in the actual park and ride and a sign advising us to use the park and ride at Sidmouth instead! Went outside and managed to catch a "regular" bus into Exeter at a cost of £9 return for two of us driver said he was the "park and ride replacement" but I don't think he was as the bus stopped at every stop on the way into Exeter. On the return journey, we jumped on a bus outside the station and the driver said his shift was over and there was an "eight minute wait for the new driver".....ok, we can live with that. After 15 minutes another driver came along and told us the replacement driver was stuck in traffic and would be another 15 minutes and we'd have to vacate the bus! So a 45 minute wait, thankfully it was cold but not raining. The whole point of park and rides is to discourage people from bringing cars into the city centres - based on this experience, I wouldn't use the Exeter park and rides again, they're most definitely not fit for purpose.
Haven't used for a couple of years. Compare now to then and the service is quite poor. No dedicated buses anymore, 20-30 min wait for a bus. Signage at the stops is all wrong. Had to hope we found the correct stop for the return journey. It puts me off coming to Exeter again for shopping.
This is no longer a park and ride as u have to catch the bus coming from cranbrook. They are not as frequent as previously, overcrowded, stop frequently on route and returning from the city centre you have to get off the bus at the roadside and walk down the road some way before crossing into the car park. So much for an improved service. Wont be using again.
