I love this place. So much choice & the opportunity to pick up a real bargain. Large selection of products for the home, including furniture, rugs, accessories, as well as bedding, towels, pet care, etc.
I love this shop, it's full of wonderful things. The floors nicely laid out. The staff are lovely and very helpful.
Very disappointing visit today.nI have returned a £14.99 coffee maker, where the handle melted and was set on fire by a gas stove. I didn't have a receipt. The staff kept saying they can't do anything because I don't have a receipt.At this point they could have suggested to do a search via the card I used for the purchase, didn't happen.The manager was very unhelpful, asking why did I use it on an open gas fire it is designed for stove, gas or electric suggesting to call customer services. I refused to walk away, out of principle as this item needs to be withdrawn due to a faulty plastic handle that sets on fire when making coffee. Then I was told to call customer services from my phone, I refused. Finally the manager called customer services on their phone. Customer services was very unprofessional, talking over me, shushing me to let them finish while I was explaining the issues, which were: 1.faulty, potentially dangerous item where noone was concerned about safety so far in store, 2.presented with exchange for same item, 3. Store credit. I refused the last 2 for obvious reasons due to the consumer act of 2015 of faulty goods, where I'm entitled to a refund. No members of staff or manager understood that this has nothing to do with store policy, it's a legal right due to faulty goods which are not fit for purpose. So no manager available, it was suggested to search for receipt by my card number after spending 45 minutes in store to deal with this. Because there is no Internet in store and I couldn't look up all my cards on the banking apps, I was asked by customer services to get off the phone as this is taking too long and was given a reference number to call back.nI found the transaction while sitting in my car and called customer services back. This time I got an other agent and they understood and were very apologetic. They found the receipt and they told me to go back to store to get a refund. I did explain that I'm uncomfortable with that as I wasn't treated very well. However they said they will call ahead tell the store a refund is authorised and will call me back. I did go back to store. 4 members of staff were searching for something, there were no customers waiting. Later I realised they were searching for my receipt. In the meantime the original checkout lady looked at me disgusted and ignored me. I asked that lady if someone is going to serve me after waiting there for 3 minutes and was acknowledged and ignored. To that lady - please have some decorum and understand customers pay your wages and this is not personal. An other lady served me and I got my refund that I was entitled to legally nothing to do with store policy after 90 minutes. I am glad I took the item back, hopefully someone will take it seriously and withdraw the item, so no kitchen has to burn down. Very disappointing, that it took 90 minutes, 4 different employees to put something legally right. It was not about the £14.99 even though I thought I paid more,which I clearly didn't, it was about raising awareness about a faulty item with a potential fire hazard. Very disappointing that customer services is not what it used to be and staff are not going above and beyond anymore like we used to when I was in retail 15-20 years ago. The good news is we have a choice and we can vote with our feet. I will be shopping elsewhere, not because of the company but because of the employees lack of awareness and training.
My Wife and I love visiting here! They always have some great unique pieces for your home but at amazing value! They have a high turnover of products so even if you visit regularly the stock will be different. We have bought so much from here and will continue to do so.
