Not a very positive experience. I seemed to be the only one chasing up to make sure everything was on track. The referencing took 4 weeks to be completed due to a "lack of internal communication"... I could forgive that but I received a messages to say it was complete when it clearly wasn't and I still had to chase things everyday.. The only positive point was that the staff are actually really friendly, it's a shame the whole process doesn't tie together! I'm really interested to see what these new autonomous app based systems can do for the referencing sector...

I used HomeLet for my insurance in a rental property. I found the staff friendly enough (with a view to a sale) of course. However, the number is not a free phone number - ran up a £6 bill for a 5 minute call - I believe they overcharged me too on my insurance price per month. I never made a claim so cannot comment on that side. I believe there is much better out there since I switched. They emailed to say I was overcharged and never replied or repaid me!

Charge £180 per head for referencing but due to their incompetence you end up doing most of the chasing yourself. They then make constant unsolicited phone calls to try and sell you insurance afterwards. Unfortunately in situations when you can't shop around for these services you are left with imbeciles .

Not a very positive review. We have landlord boiler cover with Homelet and had one of their engineers out at the boiler this year as it was not working. The engineers report came back stating that the boiler needed a few parts and the price was around £700 to repair it. We decided to get a 2nd opinion and organised a gas safe registered engineer who went out to look at the boiler and he quoted us £500 for the parts and labour. On calling Homelet to advise them of this, they said it was ok to use our engineer aslong as we provided them with the gas engineers invoice they would pay us, for us to pay him. We did this quite prompt so we could our engineer paid and it has taking 4 weeks of me chasing them for the funds. Furthermore, they failed to point out that they already deducted funds from the amount to pay their own engineer who was only out to see what was required part wise. So from the £500 we are only receiving £290 to pay our engineer. We will need to pay him the extra out of our own pocket which having the policy in place we thought we wouldnt need to do. Had that been mentioned before we would not have signed up. We have multiple properties and could have giving Homelet plenty of boiler policies but are now looking elsewhere.

In cahoots with estate agents to get renters to buy insurance with them after completing reference checks. Have pestered me almost every day with nuisance phone calls trying to get me to buy their insurance (even after I've told them I don't want it and to stop contacting me) which is far higher than others providers on the market. Would recommend avoiding.
