Embarrassing! I recently visited this store twice, both times with my mom, and unfortunately, both experiences were very disappointing. Not being experts in handcrafting, we needed assistance, but there was no one in the aisles to ask for help. We had to find someone on our own, and when we finally found a staff member, I was met with a hurried "yes, quickly" as I tried to explain our needs. Although this person was somewhat polite, I can't say the same for Anthony, who seemed to view our requests as an interruption to his work. His rude attitude was really unpleasant. The only positive aspect of our experience was Gulam I hope I spelled his name correctly at the checkout, who was very courteous and helpful. It's only because of him that I’m giving two stars to our overall experience. Despite this, we were unable to find what we were looking for, partly due to the lack of proper assistance and the hurried treatment we received. Overall, the customer service was really inadequate.
Staff always very helpful & friendly. Store clean & well looked after. It's only a small store by comparison to most so variety of stock occasionally limited, but store is well run nevertheless & has most DIY gardening basics - seasonal area always fun! Car park has always had some space whenever I've been, but and staff happy to help load the car if asked for assistance. It's the closest DIY store to my home so very convenient for me as saves a 30-45 minute drive elsewhere. Thanks for being there, guys!
Dreadful customer service. The item I was trying to buy was one price on the shelf and at the till the assistant tried to charge me three times the price. She wouldn’t believe me, even when I took a picture of the shelf price. I asked to speak with a manager who sorted it. It is thankfully very rare in life to encounter such a rude and unhelpful assistant. I would be reluctant to return to the store on account of this experience.

Well stocked shop. I got everything I wanted, including drill bits, screws and raw plugs, which a member of staff helped me with. He explained about the drill bits that I needed to make a hole in a wall! I also bought a new coat hook!
The staff were absolutely wonderful, really appreciated. I was trying to find samples and colours. Some stuff weren’t very helpful and that was amazing.
Horrible experience at this store. The customer service is shocking. They are so rude. The manager is confrontational and clearly not trained to deal with customers. I was spoken to extremely rudely by a staff member who proceeded to call her manager who right from the off just started speaking to me in a confrontational manner rather than asking me what the situation was. I will escalate this until I receive an apology from Sian. She accused me of swearing when I did not as she was so wound up and hearing what she wanted to hear and set on making me out as some villain all because she was having a bad day. Kept telling me how customers are waiting and so I shouldn't be taking up their time and how they aren't paid to hire out rug doctors so I'm not an actual customer. The eye rolling, the sighs, the awful manner and the disgusting attitude. I don't understand why anyone with such an attitude would work in customer service let alone manage a store. Go somewhere else if you're hiring a rug doctor, these people will unnecessarily make your life difficult. When I went to hire it as well, Mandy said she'll serve customers in the line behind me first and was clearly annoyed because the process takes ages. So, I patiently waited and all it was was showing ID and didn't even take that long. If you don't like lending the rug doctor, that's not the fault of the customers who are using a service you've advertised. Will be getting in touch with Rug Doctor as well. New management and staff training needed.
A store that has an identity crisis. Not sure if homebase knows what it specialises in. Not a very friendly checkout experience

Every year my housemates and I aim to get the most wonderful huge Christmas tree. And we don’t let not having a car put us off. Today I saw this especially magnificent tree in Kings Heath Homebase, and had to have it. Dave and the team there went above and beyond to make sure I had the easiest homeward trip possible. I can’t commend them highly enough. Thank you!
