Really helpful knowledgeable staff and a very inclusive environment. I think you can find most things you need for DIY here but due to the size of the shop, perhaps not everything. Certainly convenient and great outdoor garden section.
Went here for a large plant pot and a basic trellis..came out with the large plant pot for £8 which was good but for a simple tacky trellis they were asking £25 something that was probably worth £10 so wasn't too impressed with their prices even though most items had a discount of between 25% /50%......
This store has a really good garden centre. Easy to get to. Big car park and close to bus stops
Quite a convenient location for me with helpful and friendly staff. Dropped a star because it's now impossible to access and turn right from Welford Road if you are coming from the town direction with the university on your left - possibly they may be planning to close it in the future or maybe just bad traffic planning.
I never leave reviews for general retail shops but felt I needed to here based of how useless the staff are. Very bad experience in store shopping. I asked multiple staff members questions and none of them could answer them. Walking around the store once I already could remember the names of the furniture and when asking staff for delivery times ect they didn’t even know what furniture I was referring to, or the delivery times. They kept saying ‘check online’. They have multiple items of furniture on display that they don’t even sell!? We were told it’s not available to buy in store or online- so why are they on display!? We spent ages looking at it to check if it was what we wanted- only to be told we can’t buy it. All the staff at the tills look genuinely lost and any questions were answered with ‘erm I’m not sure’. And to top it all off we were overcharged- which we realised from checking the receipt ourselves and we had to go back in so they could refund us. We had to physically go and find the product ourself again and take a photo of the price on the shelf for them to refund the difference- as clearly the staff member couldn’t be bothered to go and check the shelf himself. Also a side note which isn’t the reason I left this review solely based on the staff but the whole place is insanely dirty. Dust on everything and flies and cobwebs all over the place. Understand the flies- with it being a part garden centre- but so much dust and dirt on the items is a concern.
I've ordered things to help put some shelves and furniture together for today and I have people helping me but only for today. At the minute we're using wooden spoons and butter knives to put them together coz I still don't have the screwdriver, wood glue and hammer that I ordered. Although it is with Yodelit is with the dispatch office and it hasn't gone out for delivery. And I still don't know when it's turning up today. Store staff very helpful when I called to express concern but when I tried calling customer service the line was terrible and I could not hear what the woman on the other end was saying. Then when I explained this to her she started speaking slower as if I was stupid. Overall not a good experience with the delivery service and if you need something in a timely manner don't use their delivery service
Hard to get to. Didn't help that I actually wanted a Homesense rather than a Homebase and I'd got the two mixed up. So this had nothing I wanted. If I wanted DIY, I'd have gone to my local B&Q.
Got just what I needed online, sadly the items are coming from lots of different locations which is a shame as this means lots of separate deliveries. Also had to have home delivery as all the items were not available from any of the shops local to me in the quantities I needed. Could this be the reason for the demise of face to face shopping?
Visited both Halfords and Homebase . Shopping experience was acceptable but both the shared car park is in a disgusting state . The level of litter is a shocking reflection on both companies and embarrassing. Says so much about how little you both care for the environment in which you trade
Went to buy paint for decorating my house. Found a good selection paint and some good offers. The staff were helpful and any queries I had were answered.
