Celebrated my 30th birthday at the Ironstone lodge with some friends. I’ve been to a few scout sites over the years for various events, and this may well have been the most well equipped and comfortable. We played boardgames, watched films in the projector room, had a few hours or archery with the lovely instructor Ian provided by the site and just spent the evening watching the sunset sat around a fire pit. A perfect way to celebrate a big birthday. What a special weekend!
Campers keep it clean which is nice. We use this for our Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions 2-3 times a year. I hear the facilities have been rebuilt - they’re really nice now. It has unisex toilets which is fine if you’re here with a small ish number of people.
Great gender free toilets with shower cubicles with locks and 5 sinks. Good washing sinks top tip bring your own Washing up liquid and sponge. Hope this helps Em
