Can't fault Hodsons in any process during the sale of our house. We felt the valuation was honest and we were happy with the advice given by James. Excellent communication with Louise, the sales manager, once we had accepted an offer. We felt like we got value for money for the selling fee we paid.
Hodsons managed the sale of our property that was rented out by them. They made sure that we had minimal delay between the renters leaving and sale completion reducing somewhat cost and worry. The sales side and the rental side work together seamlessly. They also kept abreast of progress and communicated with solicitors where necessary so the need for my involvement was minimal.
I have dealt with Hodsons Estate Agents since 2015 on a number of occasions. They have always been consummate professionals. They have provided an excellent service, with clear and concise communication, and have been extremely proficient. I would have no hesitation in recommending their services.
Can’t recommend highly enough We appointed Hodson’s to sell my father’s shared ownership retirement flat after he died. It was a long process. Following delays caused by our solicitors, two buyers pulled out before we finally sold the property last week. Louise Higginbottom was efficient, attentive and professional throughout. Just when we thought her service could be no better, she would surprise us again. I don’t believe we could have found a better agent anywhere. I recommend Hodson’s without reservation. We paid them a percentage of the relatively low sale price. We got the service we might have expected for a property worth 10 times as much.

I live in Oxford and wanted to sell my flat in Wakefield, I wasn’t familiar with Estate Agents in the area so after some research on RIGHTMOVE I called all the Estate Agents who were/had sold properties where my flat was based. I called about 5 in total, James Clarke the Managing Director of HODSONS returned my call promptly and was the only agent who didn’t promise the earth, say ridiculous things like “oh flats there are selling like hot cakes”; “we can sell for x£k”, etc. I was impressed with his honestly, I explained my constraints i.e. where I lived, the flat would be vacant so every day it was costing me lost rent, electric, council tax etc. The flat went on RIGHTMOVE about 29/30 December and as soon as offices opened after the New Year on 4 January, I was receiving details of viewings together with feedback. After 5 days we received an offer at the full asking price and completed on 31 March 2022. James and I had discussed the value of the property, I didn’t want to be greedy plus I had listened carefully to his expert and professional opinion. In fact, one offer we received was from someone who had offered in the region of £15k more on another property until he saw mine. This property is still on the market. I am not saying there weren’t any bumps in the journey to completion but I can honestly say I used my instinct to go with James and together with his staff they did not disappoint. HODSONS went way and above the call of duty, I needed to trust someone who would support me and I was so lucky. I asked for a recommendation regarding solicitors in the area and they were also outstanding. I went as far to ask if HODSONS could expand their business to the south! I would have no hesitation in recommending them.
