Got there exactly 10mins before my appointment time. Was able to check in, go through security & take a ticket to sit down within 2 minutes. My number was called right away & I was at the desk for less than 5 minutes and I walked out with me new passport even before my scheduled appointment time. Super efficient service & I wish everything was like this. There are some 1 hour parking spots on the road nearby but not many or there is an Asda opposite that gives you 3 hours if you use the store. Overall amazing service.
I came today for my fast track appointment. Fantastic staff, they were friendly and professional, everything went smooth, great experience.nnNow for the down point. The parking was a joke. If a policeman/warden came around here, they would be a millionaire by the end of the day from the amount of cars parked on double yellows. There was even one in the middle of the road. There was a car park, but it was for staff only, with warning signs to anyone else, and there were like two cars in the passport office's spaces.nnWhy not reserve a couple for customers? You could then fine people, who are not customers, for parking there, and make some extra quids towards your coffee stations and staff christmas do. I was 50p 20p-ing it while I was inside, hoping I don't get fined. Not that I'm admitting to parking on double yellows.nnThis was probably the one time in my life that I visit the passport office, as I'm sure it is the case for many more people who come here for the fast track service, what an awful experience it would be if we got a fine. The passport office is not exactly the sort of place you'd think to go and park on a daily basis. Would it really hurt to reserve a space or two for customers who have driven a fair distance?nnI suspect the cars on the double yellows belong to people who work around the area. If that is the case, a staff only multistory would help, then that would free up spaces in front of the buildings for customers of businesses around the area. It worked well for some businesses in Bristol.
It was not busy when we were there and I can't praise the staff enough for being friendly and helpful. We were in and out again in minutes. Whilst there is parking outside, the little commercial trading estate where the office is located was full of parked cars on yellow lines. We parked in Asda supermarket, which is just across the road.
Easiest 5 star review I have ever written.nnAfter a stressful weekend when I realised I needed a 1 day passport turnaround to get my flight on Tuesday afternoon, I thought there was no way I’d be going away.nnI applied on Saturday afternoon and the first available appointment was the day of my flight in Newport I live in London!nnThe team at Newport Passport Office were brilliant. They were sympathetic and kind, making sure I got my passport in plenty of time to get back to London to get my flight.nnFrom the application process to collection, it was easy to follow and seamless - everyone is so helpful.nnI can’t thank you all enough.
The man on reception was extremely rude, I understand that if im not allowed to go in the building and wait in reception with my 19 year old daughter thats fine but there is no need to be so rude and unhelpful. We travelled 4 hours to get there and she was on her own and has never been to collect an emergency passport before, so she didnt know where to go or what to do.However the lady that gave her the passport was lovely maybe she could help give him on reception some manners and some training in customer service.
