What can I even say about this place that Torfaen residents don’t know about? It’s like I pay council tax for the fun of it! Problems are never solved as emails are never replied to, and when I call the staff are nothing but rude, dismissive and will constantly talk over you.
Total shambles and not fit for purpose! Far too many useless fatcats at the top draining the rescources and no one managing the front line departments.. This incompetence need to be sorted by a governing public body.. This is taxpayers money that is funding this shambles.
Shameless buck passing of vulnerable males victims. Endless red tape and a total lack of resources in this area.
I would just like to thank the lady I spoke to today in the Concessionary Transport Section. I think her name was possibly Helen or Ellen. After a tense, long running battle with Transport for Wales..... I spoke to this lady and she managed to resolve the issues which were stopping me from having my bus pass. Thank very much for helping me.
The whole street have been waiting for over two weeks now for our recycling black bins to be collected council never gets back to you when you report it. Don't even email residents that have the app explaining why collections are not being made. Very poor service, why do we pay council tax?
Never get through to Business rate’s department.
They don't answer the phone at 1545hrs so must exactly long lunch.. !

I'll be honest up to around 3pm today this review was going to be hateful..mostly thanks to b&s bailiffs..but then..I get the most helpful guy a supervisor from council tax office on phone & he explains everything says he will email me all details directly to explain, gave me his contact details & made arrangements so I can deal with them direct rather than these hateful bailiffs..all in under 15mins..that to me is faultless..after so much attitude on phone at last a professional who knows how to talk to people..was starting to think they dont exist anymore..I dont agree with many things Torfaen do but at least employ a guy like this to explain things...goes a long way.
Absolutely horrible council. ZERO comparison or sympathy for anyone. I would not recommend living here to anyone.
