Cannot fault the service from the passport office. We got a phone call at 7am to say we can pick up a passport in Glasgow in the afternoon, which we had done by 4.30pm. although there were queues out the door, the staff were all friendly and very helpful, considering nearly every single person comes and asks the same 2 questions all day long. We arrived at 4pm and were out and on route home by 4.45pm. very good service and a pleasant surprise.
I can't say enough good things about the Glasgow office. They were all so kind and always honest with me throughout the entire process. Mark handled my daughter's application with less than a week left before our Disney trip. I had already told her that only half the family would be going as the tickets couldn't be amended and she understood. But because she was the youngest and most excited I was heartbroken. This wasn't something we could afford to do again and it was a present for her working hard at school and the first time we planned anything together since the start of the pandemic. Mark kept me updated throughout the entire process and I cannot thank him enough. Our flight was on Tuesday morning and my train got to Glasgow 12 minutes to 5 on Monday afternoon. I arrived at the office 2 minutes before closing and they had her passport ready for me. Thank you all soo much and thank you, Mark. My 6 year old got to Disney that Wednesday and her favourite princess gave her a wave and a kiss. She is the happiest girl in the world and we just created some very special lifelong memories as a family. Thank you .
Had my passport stolen 2 days before I was due to fly. Drove there 1st thing without an appointment and was lucky enough to meet Alec behind the desk. He sorted me out with an express passport 4 hour wait and comforted me in an extremely stressful situation. Eternally grateful!! And the people doing the G4S at the door were so friendly and helpful too!! Well done all, good to know there are still some good eggs out there
Fantastic example of how a Government office should be run. Having arrived incredibly stressed and worried I would miss an important trip after losing my passport, everyone was calm, polite, friendly and understanding. From the lovely man on the door doing security checks, to the friendly, efficient lady who processed my application and reassured me. Thank you all.
Thank you Glasgow passport office for your efficiency. My dog chewed up my passport on Tuesday. I flew to a Glasgow on Wednesday to apply for a new one and got it back this morning Saturday meaning I can still go away next Tuesday. Amazingly quick turnaround. So appreciative.
After losing my passport recently, with less than 2 weeks before my flight , I travelled 8 hours to Glasgow to attend my Fast Track appointment .I had been lucky enough to book this for 5 days later. I had an appointment booked for 11am so arrived at the Passport office at 10.30am to join the queue. Luckily it wasn't too big and I was inside the building just before 11am. I was given a ticket at reception and called up shortly after this . The advisor I saw was incredibly polite , friendly and understanding. I handed over my my documents and was in and out within 15 mins ! After such such a stressful time and the very long journey, I walked out feeling alot better about the situation . Happy to say i was able to track my passport with the courier TNT and received it 5 days after my appointment . Thank you Glasgow passport office!
The HM Passport Officials are playing with people's emotion. My wife father passed away abroad and she needs to travel immediately so requested for an emergency passport thorugh them and via local MP. In order to expedite the application process, we have contacted them more than 15 times through different routes. Finally, they confirmed that her passport will be delivered today 9.30am by Royal Mail with the additional charges. We were waiting for the passport which did not arrive the said time. So we called them again and they kept transferring calls placing in a loop among the team who are asking the full information repeated and lastly diverted us to TNT Courier Service which was not initially in the picture or mentioned. When we contacted the TNT, they said that they did not even receive any request for the collection of the passport from the HM Passport Office. When our local MP contacted them on our behalf, they said that they processed but forgot to send the passport. So you imagine how they function??? Someone's loss is nothing for them. Even, they were not apologetic.
I went there to obtain a quick passport, you have to go there armed with two pics. Filled in renewal form, and old passport. Fee already paid. You are given a fixed time to attend, usually you have to be there at appointment time. A small queue and you enter , sit in appropriate area, having gone through security. There is limited street parking outside. Entrance for all people, staff friendly and professional. Not to long with staff as you apply for new passport.5 to10mins. Then leave premises, given roughly a week for new passport to be sent to you by ntl.
The service I received was professional, helpful, comforting and above all compassionate. I wish you could use the Glasgow office as the training ground for all HM Passport offices.
Thought I would need to wait 6-10 weeks and miss my holiday, but the whole first adult passport process after having and losing a child passport previously took around 2 weeks. So relieved.
