Gorgeous gem tucked away. Very accommodating with our two dogs, young children and dietary needs. Food was lovely, especially the pickles, good range of drinks and a cocktail menu I won't mind going back and trying.
It was quite a surprise to find an establishment like this in a small town like Blandford. The choice of cocktails, decor, and service are top-notch. Unfortunately, we visited in-between change of menus, so there was a limited choice of food, but what we tried was tasty, and we can't wait to go back and try a regular menu. It's definitely worth visiting, and we are going to visit again.
Went after hearing and seeing reviews of warm and welcoming atmosphere. We didn't feel particularly warmly welcomed/greeted. I'd mentioned it was our first visit but was met with silence. Lack of chat and banter from, I assume owner ? was a bit awkward and uncomfortable. Nice food platter with cheeses salami and chutneys. Unfortunately freezing cold room and atmosphere put us off staying longer which we were intending to. Sorry to say also that the ladies toilet needed a deep clean on our particular visit.
Met up with friends for a catch up, staff really friendly and eager to help we had a couple of cocktails and drinks and cheese burgers with no cheese don't know if having a hen night downstairs put the chef off, he probably was worried that he might have to strip off
The decor in this establishment oozes quality and class- almost Hollywoodesque in fact. But even that is upstaged by the knowledge of the staff, and the mixology skills of business owner Alex. And the flavour of the cocktails poured here will linger on your tongue for a while and remain in your memory forever. Award winning and highly recommended all over the country, it is worth going to Blandford Forum just to visit The Ginger Viking.
Amazing place making the most delicious sandwiches loaded with the most amazing cheese/ham and edible flowers. The bar has also have an outstanding selection of locally brewed beers. I tried IPA logic which was one of the finest hoppy IPA's I have ever had. The staff was cool and very awesome. Would highly recommend visiting this place if you are around!
Place was filthy, barman miserable and unhelpful and playing a very loud game/video on his phone. It was cold too. Beer was good hence the 2 stars.
On holiday in Dorset and visiting Blandford for the morning. Came across this place by chance. We loved its quirkiness and the guy serving was very friendly. Nice selection of beers and ciders i had never heard of plenty of coffee and cake as well. Would highly recommend. Would imagine it's a nice place in the evening when a bit more busy.
I booked Ginger Viking for my sisters baby shower 10/9/22 and it was an amazing venue. The owner even closed the cafe to the public for us! I can’t recommend GV enough, highly recommended for value for money and experience. We had a buffet at £5 a head which was well worth the money! Their cafe has beautiful decor and accommodates 20-30 perfectly. Thank you, GV!
Gorgeous place for cocktails. Landlord chatted with us for ages. Will need to book as gets very busy.
