Used Hine in GX for a flat purchase around a year ago, was mostly happy with the experience but wasn't happen to find they'd discussed details of my purchase with other clients of theirs who were not party to the sale.

Warning avoid at all costs if using for motoring defence!!! I had a consultation for 1.5 hours and was left feeling like there was no hope (after having already given a £450 deposit) and was given a task-list of items to get together for my defence, even though by his own admission he didn't know the best way to proceed.  I was then told that I didn't need to send the info until the week of the trial. This left me feeling uneasy as I could not understand how he could be truly prepared receiving my info only 4 days before trial and what exactly he was he doing for the money, then it dawned on me that I was going to get a "cookie cutter" defence e.g. try this, if that does not work try this and if that doesn't work shrug your shoulders and say "I tried" and walk away with £900 of my money. Thankfully found another solicitor (not part of a major brand) and the guy was awesome needless to say I will be recommending him to everyone as he was very knowledgeable, set realistic expectation and genuinely did the legwork. The thing that got me is even though Hines solicitor hadn't done anything they kept my deposit claiming that they had swallowed it up on work he had done, I find this outrageous as the new solicitors spent more time with me before I had even spent a penny and I got a far more senior solicitor for the money…….you've been warned!
