My wife was there for a few week in February 2024. I did my research and in all honesty Highfield came out the best! But my ingrained prejudice over the area it was in made me wary. BUT how wrong was I, true the building was based in the 1970’s the staff was most certainly based in the 21’st century.nThey to a fault were so friendly, helpful and professional it was awesome, the work they did with my wife was amazing so much so she was home in a short time.nHaving spent time in hospital food is important and the food at Highfield was good my wife will not eat chicken however both chefs visited her to sort out alternative meals.nSo all in all from the admin staff through the domestic’s, carer’s and physios were good and certainly get my and my wife’s endorsement.nOh and a special mention for the young lady who organised the event’s bingo etc she got my wife movingnnSteve CrossnGoole
My mum had broken her ankle and spent approximately 8 weeks in Highfield to help with her rehabilitation. The care she received was fantastic. The staff went above and beyond and nothing was too much trouble. Thankyou!
Lovely CHCP rehabilitation centre, has very caring and friendly staff who will try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Simple NHS breakfasts are served followed by cold/cooked lunches and evening meals all with a vegetarian option, assistance with eating given as required. Physio's are on hand in the morning and afternoon, who take great care to ensure you're not asked to do more than you are capable of as they try to help you get back to your old self again. I spent 6 nights in the facility, before being moved on by CHCP to Sunshine House.
My mum was in Highfield for nearly 4 weeks. I had to fight to get a window visit my mum as dementia was anxious tearful fretting to commit suicide . She had a dirty top on for 4 days in a row. Someone else's clothes on . She was kept in her room 24 /7. She as come home now with a bed sore know one told us about. I found the all time of her been in Highfield horrific
Fantastic facility. All staff therapy staff physio occupational therapy staff brilliant. Thank you to the carers,domestic staff, chefs for looking after me so well and getting me home. Once again thank you.
