Absolute disgrace they are not doctors it’s more a clinic where a nurse sees most of the people. It needs closing and reopening with a new set of doctors. We need a doctors surgery here in Higham that can manage a good practice. After getting number 1 on phone this morning to get offered an appointment at another doctors a bus ride away. There are lots of elderly people who just could not do that. So no doctors on or nurses today . So it might as well have been closed . I have tried all week to get through on the lines . Absolute disgrace
Today I received a text message in response to the new ANIMA system, which in itself is not fit for purpose in my opinion. The text told me that my request had been reviewed and I had been referred to Higham Ferrers Pharmacy. Clearly the request had not been read properly or any of my notes because they would have seen that I had attended Corby Urgent Care and been prescribed antibiotics. My husband had called 111 because on Sunday I have not improved infact had got worse. In the early hours of Monday he called 111 who then said a Dr. would call back which he did, over the phone and from what was said he concluded I needed a reassessment of my condition, his recommendation was to see a Dr. not as the text I received suggested that I see a Pharmacist, who cannot do much except sell over the counter medication. I resolved my own situation by going back to Corby Urgent Care where I was indeed seen by a Dr. and not a Nurse Practioner he prescribed stronger antibiotics and pain killer, he then said if it continues to see my GP. I would if it were possible and things were actually assessed and read by them but on the basis of the text and phone call I have just had it seems like the Admin Staff do it all and the person I just spoke to didn't really have any interest. I am sorry to say that this surgery has taken very much a turn for the worse, but I dare say patients of other surgeries are likely to feel similar about some of their experiences.
From my experiences with three different surgeries in the area ,I honestly feel Higham surgery is worth at least 4 stars. Friendly, efficient, great staff. It takes a special person to work with the public constantly especially sick people. My visits are fairly frequent due to my health and like wise also for somebody I care for. Thankyou Higham surgery
My scan came back to discussnobody called me. It has been two months and I keep calling and calling and I still can’t get an appointment. This morning at 08:00 I was number 12 for one hour and 10 minutes. I was told to call tomorrow at 08:00.I am so frustrated to the point I’m crying.
I called with my ill daughter4 years old and never get appointment. That happened 3-4 times at the past 6 months. Same situation had my wife when called them. When over 2 years ago she went to "gp" at surgery lady asked her "do you know what can be wrong with you?". Myself never get appointment also so I am going to urgent care Corby. We are paying for the service and never get that! Now I am booking private GP's for my family to get help. If I am paying for the NHS I am expecting to get the proper service! If you are looking the help better to do not loose time for this surgery.
Sad to say the service continues to be appalling and NOT patient focused. I got through at 8am this morning, was 16th in the telephone queue. 8.45am I was second in queue, 950am and I am now first in the queue and have been since 0905! Completely unacceptable, if you have no appointments at least answer to say that or better still have an automated message that announces that once all of the appointments have gone. It seems you just hope people get fed up and hang up if you ignore them for long enough! I hung up at 950am , I sat for 1 hour and 50 minutes trying to get through and 45 minutes of that I was supposedly first in the queue !
Two years ago. Bedford hospital sent a letter to this practice. Saying that I should be placed on a waiting list for surgery. Have called in today .only to be told that they have no records of being put on the surgery waiting list. I don't understand what is going on with this practice. Do the doctors here actually know what they are doing. Or is there a complete failure in the surgery system. IAM AT A LOSS TO WHY TWO YEARS DOWN THE ROAD .IVE STARTED HAVING THE SAME ISSUES FROM TWO YEARS PREVIOUS. AND NO ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN. AS THIS COULD BE A CANCER ISSUE . IAM A BIT CONCERNED. NOT HAPPY WITH THE DOCTORS.SYSTEMS AT THIS SURGERY.
I am note surprise. It's not the first time I have to insist for them to check they are system for the prescription. This time they received from diabetic center a request for diabetic tests last week and didn't place the request for the pharmacy. I when to the GP and they pass internally as urgent, asked to call back in the end of the day. I did, they informed nothing had been done and cannot guarantee it will be done tomorrow. I am tired to waist my time. If you are looking for a efficient GP, run from this one.
I would give 0 stars for this GP surgery! I was called them every single day for the last 3 days to book an appointment ,because we lost our baby and I need to do some blood tests ,they said: Unfortunatelywe don't have availability so call us tomorrow at 8am ,today I called again and wait 56 minutes to wait on the queue and to hear that they are in strike and unfortunately don't have availability, they advised me to call tomorrow. IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A GP AND MET WITH HIM DON'T REGISTRE HERE!
Never any appointments, there phone system is a waste of your life. Just don’t waste your time with such a poor service.
