Set in beautiful surroundings at the heart of Knaresborough, Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre offers fully accessible facilities & activities to inspire you.

Story

As well as being a hub for the arts community, holding regular events and supporting local crafters, we provide vocational training for people with disabilities. We support people to reach their true potential by giving them real work experience through our social enterprise. Every week, over 150 Art Makers take part in a range of workshops, including employability training, health and wellbeing, arts and crafts and multi-sensory.

We are also open to the public and have a range of accessible facilities:
- fully licensed café
- shop selling original artwork
- open studios
- art workshops
- children's play area
- woodland walk and gardens

We hold regular events such as exhibitions, live music, theatre and craft fairs and we’d love to welcome you to the Centre to see what we can offer you.

Fantastic venue putting on a wide range of charitable events. Went to the beer festival in May 2024 and watched bands/artists perform and it was very enjoyable. I would recommend this venue to family and friends, 10 out of 10.
Visited Henshaw’s for the first time yesterday for the wellness fair hosted by local business The Crystal Buddha. It was an amazing day. The fair itself was brilliantly run, with some lovely vendors. But I particularly wanted to compliment the cafe team. The whole team worked exceptionally hard the whole day. I don’t know what the cafe is like normally, but it was absolutely packed yesterday, and the team were very attentive, friendly, and professional.
Was great - went for the beer festival but FOH lighting was non existent once it got dark. Hard to see and atmosphere suffered as a result imho. Some braziers and string lights would have been nice.
We had a really great toasted sandwich and a cup of coffee. Also brought a beautiful beaded bracelet made by a blind person. They sell art and crafts made by people with "diffabilities".
A welcoming place for art makers of all abilities, sight loss and especially those that may need a little help. Pop in for a coffee, to buy art or plants to support this wonderful charity

Great idea. Set in a beautiful garden, lots to see and experience as a visitor. The food and second hand books helping to fund the service as well.
Had a great time at a folk festival here, top musical talents, great vibe, food/ drinks at very fair prices. The grounds are fantastic, if you have time to walk around. My train got cancelled at the end of the session and the manager couldn't do any more to help me out. Great stuff,.; Thank you !!
