Really disappointed with the service. The practice has gone downhill. Was only allowed a telephone appointment, which I understand with the high demand over Xmas. But this resulted in being diagnosed incorrectly and after calling them again to say I think I have been misdiagnosed I had stronger antibiotics thrown at me so I would go away. After my condition worsened I finally got an in person cancellation appointment with dr Solomon who is lovely and not who I dealt with previously and after 2 1/2 months I’m finally being seen to. I’ve wasted time and money all because I’m young and have a non-life threatening condition so I’m completely disregarded.
I recently moved to this doctors practice when I moved to heaton Moor, and such a better practice. First off all the receptionists are always so friendly and helpful don’t make me feel intimidated like I’m making there job more stressful than it already is which made me feel welcome straight away. Every appointment I have made I have been seen to on time, never experienced long wait times ever. The doctors I have seen in this practice generally seem to care and take their time even though I’m sure they are so busy and stressed, they don’t want to give you a quick answer and then fob you off to see their next patient they see to all your questions and concerns in a kind way. There is one doctor in particular I don’t know his name yet, but one thing that made me really respect him and know he is a great doctor is, I made a appointment to talk about my hormonal acne and he gave me so many options that he thought would be a good option to deal with my issue, he understood my hopelessness of trying everything and was honest with me about all the options. He then proceeded to ask how my mental health was doing which no doctor has ever asked or checked up on with me after my recent diagnosis or new medications which I also understand with how busy and overworked our health care system is - he cared and took the time to explain my new medication how it works the scientific structure of it and if I needed any support with it which lifted me and made me trust in our doctors again specifically when it comes mental health.
Always friendly, helpful, and they take the time to listen. I think they're especially good for kids appointments, we never have to wait for those. I've found it easy to get a phone appointment for myself and then they have offered a face to face if needed. I also found their.maternity services to be very good.
Totally gone down hill since the expansion I have been shoved under Dean Lane, however my choice of staying with Heaton Moor was because of the poor service in Hazel Grove. @HMC the idea is that we wouldn't see a change in service but I can tell you there is - the excellent service you provide at Heaton Moor is NOT replicated at the other surgeries you have taken on. Please train these other surgeries I am so disappointed that I have lost being a patient with Heaton Moor truly a disservice to those of us who never asked for this!
Horrific, appalling service trying to even get an appointment then when I complained I eventually did get one! Furthermore please expect at LEAST a 50 minute delay when you get there with absolutely no apology for the doctor who will then try rush you through your appointment with no real intentions of diagnosing or assisting. The age old wait and see. You have to beg them to follow up on tests and don’t EVER expect them to actively resolve an issue you will essentially have to diagnose yourself and tell them what medication you want. I received treatments for an ulcer and had half the tests but didn’t receive ANY follow ups or tests to ensure it was gone so now it’s back. Just avoid, unfortunately these guys only care once they’re making excuses at inquests - a factual statement I’ve also had the pleasure of living through courtesy of HMMG.
Took away the ability to book appointments on the Patient Access app so you have to wait half an hour any time of day to make an appointment by phone. Who has time for that?! Ridiculous! It’s 2023 for god sake, get with the times.
Poor surgery. Let me down in everyway possible. When the police have to take you there to get your medical records. Says it all. Constantly lying to me. Hoping I will just go away. My health is deteriorating so rapidly they will get there wish soon!
It's almost impossible to get an appointment, and if you do manage it's always a phone appointment - never in person. This used to be a great medical centre but it's gone downhill now, especially since they decided to expand. This centre should cater for the heatons only - otherwise it's obviously going to be oversubscribed! Appointments are also very short in order to accomodate for the ever increasing number of patients, so you rarely feel looked after.
Had a constant pain in my abdomen since 2018 and then stated to get a bit of swelling in 2021, so GP suggested a possible weakness in my abdomen but to have an ultrasound to be safe, as i had a change in symptom. Turned up to Heaton moor. The consultant asked me about my diet. I told him mainly chicken, fish, rice, Pasta and a good amount of fruit and veg. He told me I need to stop eating bacon? After multiple times telling him I rarely eat bacon , I asked to leave as long as he couldn’t see anything serious. Reception were as cold as the lubricating jelly the consultant left all over my trousers too.
Absolutely amazing practise. All the doctors are equally amazing and have plenty of time to listen to your problems. Been here for over 15 plus years never had a problem. Staff are always courteous and polite and the staff at the pharmacy are very nice and friendly too .
