Heathrow Terminal 3 is an airport terminal at Heathrow Airport, serving London, the capital city of the United Kingdom. Terminal 3 is currently used by Oneworld members and a few other non-affiliated airlines. It is also the base for Virgin Atlantic.nnThis airport opened in November 13, 1961.nnLondon Underground's Piccadilly Line provides the most cost-effective rail route between Heathrow and the capital.nJourney time by Tube is under an hour and you shouldn't have to wait longer than ten minutes for a train, even off-peak.nn#LVPMoment
Heathrow airport is worst than a third world country airport.nLanded from Dubai and had a request for wheelchair. We are taken from the flight to an old buggy that looks like one of the units that were used in WW1 to a waiting room. There we are informed that we will have to wait for 45 mins before we can get service. The waiting area has no toilet facilities. The closest one is 400 mts and no one to push the wheel chair to the toilet. We landed at 18:40 and I left the airport at 9:20. The area where we collect the bags is chaotic. Our bags are taken off and put down. I can write a book about the problems and will still not end. It is sad
Big car park, which has lots of disabled parking bays near the lifts so easy for people to navigate around the airport. Terminal has shops there good for snacks and items for travelling.
Arrived on a Saturday morning around 9:55 am for a noon flight. Luckily found parking almost immediately on Level 2.nnRestrooms for the Parking area are located on level one, same level for Arrivals and Departures. Restrooms are to the left of the Lifts, if you stand saving lifts, with the bridge to terminal on your right. The Women’s restroom has three toilet stalls, including one wide for wheelchair passengers, and another is disabled friendly.nnSurprisingly, for three hand wash sinks, there is ONLY ONE soap dispenser, and today it was struggling to dispense soap. So bit disappointed about that.nnOtherwise, Terminal 3 is pretty straight forward, especially the newer A Checkin counter area for Virgin and Delta. This is easy to access from the pickup and drop off bays, which charge GBP 5 for the service per trip.nnIf you’re going to your checkin counters/ gates from the parking lot, it will be through the Arrivals waiting area. That’s a bit older looking and congested, and was at the time preparing for a Virgin flight to Islamabad.nnParking charged us GBP 8:46 for 45 minutes, so not sure what the rate is and how it’s charged. For covered parking, can’t complain. Besides it’s preferred to the open air parking at Gatwick.nnWas pretty smooth today from arrival to check in, overall.
Not the best of the terminal at Heathrow. Other terminals are upgraded. However T3 departures area has a fairly decent selection of food and shops. Security was quick for me. Took like 5 mins only.
