Sunday lunch after the races. Nice cut of beef and a shoulder of lamb accompanied by a nicely cooked, albeit skimpy portion of vegetables. Pub was quiet and we were tabled in the front room which wasn't really a restaurant, more of a pub table. There is a restaurant area at the back which looked quite cosy. The beer garden looks great for the summer, and generally the service was tight and pleasant from attentive service staff. Price wasn't too bad either. 3 pots of tea. 3 Sunday dinners. 1 Cauliflower cheese tiny portion. 1 dessert. £52 Sat next to a log burner in the middle of January. It wasn't lit.
Great pub serving delicious food - much needed after a schlep up the M1. The homemade steak and onion pie was possibly one of the best I've ever had - the filling was absolutely superb - and I also went for a rib-sticking portion of treacle pudding and ice cream for pudding. It would have been rude not to. All washed down with a couple of pints of Longhorn IPA. Marvellous! Very friendly and efficient staff too. Highly recommended...
As always we were looking forward to having Sunday lunch and this time with no washing up... Alas, the only good things about this lunch was the potatoes and not having to do the washing up... When asked how the roast beef was served we were joyfully informed that all the meat is well done. Therefore the menu consisted of Beef, Turkey and for an extra an extra £2 Lamb, All overcooked with lifeless underseasoned vegetables and a very thin tasteless thin gravy... In essence I would have been happy to pay twice the amount for even edible fodder ..not a pale, imitation...

Called in on spec for lunch 4thApril. Put 2 tables together for us as a family of 3. Then very quickly the lady moved us to a bigger table as 1 was available. Had lovely luch & a good family catch up. Lovely food, nice and relaxing place. Went home with full & happy tummies. Good price & would come again

Really good pub, great food.
Went here with a large work party for a meal. Really nice food. The steak was really tender, large and no fat. The chocolate cheesecake was also really good. The staff were really pleasant and looked after us.
Friday lunch with friend. Very welcoming. Quite busy at time of visit. Quick service with food and was hot and very nice. I would highly recommend this establishment.
