Words are not enough for Hazeldene house. From the very 1st day my dad became a resident to the day he passed away. From the reception, cleaning, cooks, laundry team, carers, nurses and certainly not forgetting the deputy manager Miheala. Everyone of this massive team showed my dad and my family 1st class excellence in all areas. Hazeldene worked closely with The weald of Kent hospice which is just down the road. They spoke of nothing but fondness of the staff at Hazeldene. The hospice were able to support my dad in his last days, visiting us, increasing dad's medication and answering any questions we had. We never wanted dad to be looked after by anyone else. We had hoped that we would be able to care for him at home. But he needed a team and what a fantastic team they are. My dad's passing was over a week long. My mum, my sister and I did not leave his side for the duration. We felt like we had moved in too! They looked after us and dad beautifully. Nothing short of amazing. It was a horrendous time. My dad was 65 with severe Alzheimers. But, we shall remember and be eternally grateful for every single minute that he was cared for by Hazeldene. No regrets here.
How very sad to hear that the old house which my grandfather grew up in has been demolished. Was just looking it up to see if I could visit but it is no more. Still I'm sure the modern complex serves the residents far better.
