I had my hair cut by Jody today (men's cut). A really excellent experience and one of the best haircuts I have ever had. Jody really knows his craft and cares about hair. I had a solely scissor cut, and I appreciate that this will grow out so much better than anything with clippers, the finish at the back and edges is as good as fine and crisp as with clippers. His philosophy is simple, that good hair should be for everyone, it shouldn't be intimidating and it should be personal. He doesn't get caught up in trends, and he understands that hair is complex and not everyone knows everything about what they should be using on their hair etc. and he teaches you what is best for your hair in a supportive way. He actually has a background in education and this shows through. The customer service at Haus of Brooks is excellent and I was always addressed by my name, in the salon and over the telephone. Jody is a jet-setting hairdresser, in-demand in London and beyond, but he is here in lovely Bexhill spreading his great hair philosophy. He gives advice on products and help with styling like blow drying techniques etc. I never felt like I was having products sold at me and I was able to think about a purchase and request it at the end if I wanted. Top notch, expert hairdressing in the most unlikely of regional settings. Very happy and I will come back. Anyone who really wants the best for their hair and uses it as part of their style should come here. It is worth it.

I had an amazing edgy pixie cut- quite a difference and was totally impressed by the quality of the cut (by Chris) and the overall service was very satisfactory and made me feel very special. Was a really lovely experience and I will definitely be going again.

I agree with the other low reviewers. Over priced, rude and arrogant. Cannot walk the talk at all. Asked for blonde highlights and came out one solid colour orange! This is after we spent 45 min in consultation with a picture and colour chart explaining my worries about going the wrong colour but he insisted it wouldn't go wrong. Had to go in for a colour correction but it was still not right. Very disorganised and go on and on about have fabulous they are. I also had a very expensive conditioning treatment done and there was no difference at all. I will never be returning as my trust in them has gone.

The only way this salon is staying 'afloat' is by their high prices You are kept waiting a long time with no apologies, which is rude and arrogant The cut and finish is ok, but doesn't warrant the costs. If you have curly hair then avoid at all cost You have to listen to the lead stylist drone on and on about his life, it's tedious, arrogant and again rude There isn't a fully booked calendar, and not a large number of returns Make sure you ask around Bexhill before booking there I concur with the previous genuine low reviews
