We bought a corner sofa and armchair in Harvey’s in Chelmsford. Within one day of purchase I rang and told them that the chair was not right and dipping to one side. A person turned up and opened the back and said there was nothing wrong. A short while later I again said that I was not happy with the armchair as it felt as though it was dipping. Again a person arrived who not only informed me there was nothing wrong he also disputed the fact that they had previously sent somebody to look at said armchair. I am an intelligent adult and am entirely dissatisfied with not just the service but the very poor quality of the furniture. I now have a spring hanging out of the bottom of this “nothing wrong with it “ armchair. Thanks but no thanks Harvey’s. Steer clear if your reading this and considering buying from this outfit !!
Hi,I purchested the Brooklyn corner corner uni it was in a charcoal material. Bought from Harvey’s at southend Essex. I paid £312 for the insurance,I paid for this item 28/09/2018 I made a claim on the 5/2/2023 on the 6/2/2023 they told me the insurance would not cover this type of problem,the corner unit is turning charcoal to a pinky colour, Guardsman furniture professionals
We bought three seater recliner. Broke after 2 months. Independent assessor said there was a knot in low quality wood. Harveys claimed to be bankrupt and would not fix. The sofa is garbage, it is so uncomfortable, it's like torture sitting in it. Steer clear if you dont want to be taken advantage of.
Unfortunately, I am not satisfied with the service of the Harvey team. On September I ordered several products. The salesman Naim at Beckton London informed me that I would receive everything within six weeks. On November I was surprised because only part of the order has been delivered to me. Nobody has informed me that my order will be divided and shipped at different time. When I called the helpline, a gentleman informed me that he do not know why it happened, only he knows that the rest of the order will be delivered to the UK on December 8 and then someone will contact me. On December 10, I received email with information that my goods have not yet been received into the Distribution Centre and I have to wait longer. On the end I received the rest on December 20. That's how Harveys treated me : Instead of 6 weeks I was waiting 15 WEEKS!!!!!!!!! I was lied to by the seller, I didn't hear any apologies. unsatisfied customer
I bought 4 pieces of sofas, back in December 2019. At the time of the purchase the seller offered "a fantastic insurance" for nearly £500 extra, of course for an expensive sofa, I went for it, but I needed to buy some extra "care kit". So, I was going to be under the insurance covered, as using Harveys products to clean and maintain it. Unfortunately, a year later the sofa is quite damage by using the products they provided, and guess what??? The insurance do not cover it. Totally CHEATERS!!!!!! So I've been left with an outrageous expensive Haveys cleaning products, and extra fee for insurance that is not worth a penny.
Excellent customer service. I was greeted very warmly by a young man named Shakil who surprisingly had the same name as mine. He helped me find the perfect sofa which was in my budget and went through all the finance options available to me. He didn’t make me feel pressured in to buying at any point and made the whole transaction very smooth and easy. I was and I still am absolutely delighted with my purchase. Thank You Harveys Beckton and thank you Shakil. Hope to do more business in the future.
Took money off my disabled mother on January 9th 2020. As to date no response or reply. They have stolen her money! Avoid at all costs. Phone lines never get answered. Staff are liars and incompetent. Please do yourself a favor and do not shop there. Staff will sell their mothers to make a sale so be aware.
Once again let down by Harveys. Terrible service. We bought the sofa in August, it's now the end of January and we're still yet to receive it. Horrendous customer service from Ross Williams at head office who is dealing with the complete embarrassment of a delivery system. 3 failed deliveries resulting in time off work and windows being removed. Promise of compensation which was never received. Then when the sofa finally arrived. It was the wrong sofa and we are now waiting a further 12 weeks for the correct sofa. Avoid avoid avoid.
Absolutely shocking, staff not helpful. Walked in with a hope of finding a desired sofa for my home and not one member of staff asked if i wanted any help or advise, one man just stood on his phone with his legged leaning on one of the sofas and just gave one dirty unwelcoming look followed by standing outside the store and smoking. My advise is don't do a job if you don't want to help people. I will never spend my money in a store like this due to the lack of professionalism and care towards customers. Absolute disgrace! Please avoid!
Don’t usually write reviews but I was really pleased with the whole process of buying a sofa from Harvey’s so a big thanks to Shakil his customer service was outstanding, dealing with all queries thoroughly. Buying a sofa can be daunting as it’s an important part of a home and the biggest piece of furniture in a home. There were so many great choices in Harvey’s. This young man was able to explain all sofa terminology going through all my favourite pieces in detail explaining all qualities and differences thus making my experience super easy and stress free. Together we found a sofa that met all my needs and I can’t wait for it to be delivered! Zakiyyah
