Maybe the time of year, but very full for a Thursday, so obviously popular. Salad bar was fresh and well stocked and enjoyed the food. Waiter service was excellent. They seemed to have enough staff in the well equipped kitchen. Overall a pleasant evening. Kid-friendliness: Plenty of children out with family. Most kids would die for one of the sundaes. Parking: A large forecourt outside.
For decades I'd avoided The Harvester as it was pretty dire in the 90s. This was my 4th visit in 8 months, having been persuaded to visit last summer, when I was very pleasantly surprised to discover things were vastly better than in the 90s. One of the best tasting beefiest beef burgers I've ever had. The salad is great too.
During our visit to the Unicorn Harvester, our food was very overdone. My steak was burnt to a crisp on the outside, and my wife's chicken was very tough. This being said, the staff were lovely, and the service was fast but not rushed and friendly. Overall, we had a good family meal out and will return again soon. Vegetarian options: They have a wide range of vegetarian options. Kid-friendliness: Harvester is very accommodating to children of all ages. A high chair can be requested when booking online or asked for in the restaurant. Parking: The care park isn't huge but has enough parking. There are also disabled parking bays available. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is on ground level, so there are no stairs.
Absolutely fantastic experience. I went here with my partner ,our 3 year old and 1 year old. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. When booking my table on the app I asked if they could ensure that the table we were placed at had enough room to put a my sons buggy so it wouldn't be in the way and if we could have a highchair and these requirement were provided for us with no problems. Both me and my partner got a what I describe as a 'Deluxe ' Mixed Grill and it was incredible, I had honestly never had that much food put in front of me. The staff were happy for me and my partner to swap the items on the mixed grill we didn't like for example we swapped black Pudding for an extra sausage and ensured we were satisfied with our meal when the had the opportunity. Attending a restaurant with children can sometimes be tricky however The Harvester had thay covered and up on entering you receive a children's activity pack with lots of things to keep you children entertained while you are dining. Would 100% visit again, lovely food , lovely staff altogether a great experience Kid-friendliness: This restaurant is very children friendly and are prepared to keep your children occupied when you are dining . Up on entering you are given an activity pack to help keep your children entertained while dining.
Turned up as a walk in, staff were brilliant friendly and very helpful. Food was excellent, I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. Parking: Plenty of space directly outside the venue.
Myself and my partner went here yesterday and can honestly say I won’t be going back again…. I know the harvester can always be hit or miss but yesterday the service was terrible, we arrived around 5:20 and no one took our order for at least 25 minutes and it was only until I asked to be served we actually ordered our food! Around 20 minutes later our drinks still wasn’t brought to us we only needed glasses as we opted for refillable drinks had to ask again for our glasses and this time we asked the manager and she said she would bring them right over, ten minutes passed and we asked a waitress for two glasses….. manager finally came over with our glasses about 40 minutes after asking her, food tasted like it was left on the hot plate for a lot longer than it should, manager left dirty plates on the little desk beside us for at least twenty minutes! We were asked if we wanted desert but we just wanted to leave after the service we received. We asked for the bill and once again the manager said she will grab it but ten minutes of waiting I asked a waitress for the bill and guess what the manager never turned up with our bill. I would totally understand if it was busy but it wasn’t and all the staff just seemed to walk around really fast to make it look like they were busy. Think the manager could do with some extra training.
Been to the Unicorn multiple times over the past few years. From date nights, to birthdays, to casual lunches they have always delivered outstanding service and food quality. Not once in my many many visits have I ever had a complaint, staff are always friendly and helpful. Food is delicious, well priced, and out the kitchen quickly. I have had multiple items from the menu every one of which has been amazing. If your looking to have a great experience dining out without breaking the bank, The Unicorn Harvester is a fantastic option.
Firstly the welcome from the staff. we were give the table of our choice quiet. drinks were brought quickly whilst we looked at the menu. we chose the 3 courses for just over £13. what value, do not know how you do such quality for that money. only disappointment was the garlic bread which was not slice of crispy bread but a roll with cheese on top. The help yourself salad was as good as always. we were never rushed at any stage and very much enjoyed the experience. Our server was very friendly and we all had a good laugh. She offered us all the alternatives that were available as well as the main items. Many thanks to all, we will be back
My veggie meal was lovely but my friends chargrilled chicken was hard and tough. She sent it back and although it was not that busy she had wait a long time. She had to find a waitress and say can she gave her money back or some chips because she was hungry after so long waiting. It suddenly arrived! Better chicken that time but not a good experience at all. But the waiter at the bar was very pleasant and attentive. So thumbs up for him .
Great meal as per usual. Michelle K is excellent and Claire has looked after us really well this year.Recommended dishesUltimate Mixed Grill
