Pre booked a table but i wasn't on the list. Friendly staff but slow service. Main course was OK but not very hot. My wife didn't get her sauce with her main course or jug of custard with her dessert. Dessert was obviously frozen bought in bulk. Overall I would give it 6 out of 10 rating. Parking: Car park not adequate for hotel and restaurant parking
Absolutely superb evening very friendly happy staff, informative and welcoming. All food was wonderfully cooked above expectations and comes at a good price, a very pleasant visit. . We will be back again. Kid-friendliness: Lots of choice on children's menu ,and a charity cart to buy items for children on entry like toys which we thought was fantastic to keep them occupied, GOSH Parking: Lots of parking but tight squeeze and very dark outside
So I had a table booked for 19:15, but had to wait till 19:30 to be seated as it was very busy but didn't mind as the staff were clearly working incredibly hard! Once we were seated I had the Christmas menu wellington and the black forest cheesecake which was delicious! The staff were very friendly and attentive!
We stopped here for lunch while visiting Plymouth on business. The restaurant is quite easy to find, head down Plymouth road towards the Devon Expressway interchange and turn off right at Crabtree close before you get to the interchange. The car park was quite empty when we got there, and there was plenty of disabled parking. The entrance gave the appearance that the restaurant was closed, it was quite dark and the doors were closed, but yay they were open. We were shown to our table and the waitress remarked that she would be back shortly to take our order as they were busy getting ready for lunch, having just changed over from breakfast. This was quite evident as there was a large gathering of breakfast debris on the floor, and a tin of lip balm!! Our order was taken and within 20 minutes of sitting down we were tucking in, although I have to say at £13 I did not feel it was value for money for my "Smothered Chicken" which wasn't as smothered as it could have been and looked a little lonely on the plate. After we had finished the waitress asked if we would like some more fries as they were refilled for free - I wish this had been stated earlier, perhaps before we ordered. I would like to add that the disabled toilets were lovely and clean. All things considered, I would return for another family meal and as many fries as I can cram into my stomach as is physically possible.
My wife and I took a "Meal Deal" for two = 2 course evening meal and breakfast, while staying at Premier Inn next door. On the face of it very good value. However, the food was very poor for evening meal and poor for breakfast. Evening staff were good, morning were OK. I had calamari starter which came in a small bowl. It had been given a few seconds in a microwave over - the bottom few pieces were warm but the upper level cold. The quality and quantity were both disappointing. My wife could not get her choice and took mushrooms on ciabatta with mozzarella cheese - mushrooms OK but the cheeses was more like chewing gum and inedible no idea why it went like that The mains were 1 smothered chicken - hard reheated piece of chicken with cheese chewing gum and 2 rack of pork ribs - totally dry as if kept warm for hours and lacking any sauce during cooking reheating, however the basic ingredient would have been very good had it been properly cooked. In both cases the chips were fine. Drinks were fine too. Breakfast was a let down, dried out mushrooms - not edible sad looking fried eggs, variable bacon and variable hash browns. The continental option included in the cooked option was fine, I think. Coffee was not great - other similar chain restaurants do better. On the floor next to our table evening meal was a green colour Rentokil mousetrap - reassuring that they are at least trying to eliminate the pests. Photos included.
Food really good. Great choice too even with xmas menu. Hired function room which is right by door on ground floor. Has access to patio in good weather. No charge for room over certain amount of people think its 25 Vegetarian options: Things on menu for vegetarian, also some vegan. Kid-friendliness: Cater for kids with highchairs and kids menu. Plus colouring and crayons Parking: Parking is pretty good. Disabled spaces available too Wheelchair accessibility: Yes all good Dietary restrictions: Various dietary options on menu
Turned up for an 18th birthday party, place was a mess , room was not ready, see pictures of room. Spent half an hour cleaning room prior to guests turning up, food was OK, but some meals were cold, will never go back !!!!<b>Food</b>: 1/5
Booked here for my partners birthday, what a mistake! The front of house staff were friendly though...that's why I've given it 2 stars. My little one ordered from the kids meal and got nachos for starters. We ordered the SHARING nachos but it was exactly the same size. Partners lasagna was good.... apparently. My burger on the other hand was the size of my wallet and I'm not flush with cash...so it was pretty small. My chips were rock solid and cold. I asked them to change them, which they did. My daughters burger was burnt around the edge some much you couldn't chew it. And to top it off, we all had the unlimited drinks and I asked for a refill on my Dr.Pepper Zero, so they brought over 4 drinks and over crowded the table. Table to the left of us complained about their steak. Table to right right of us, also complained about their steak. This used to be a nice place but now you pay for overpriced ready meals. Next time we'll go to McDonald's down the road, obviously better quality food there.
I booked the Function Room for a 40th Birthday Lunch. I was allowed access to the room in plenty of time to put up photographs and birthday banners. Cutlery and napkins were already laid for us and the high chair was also in the room as requested. The staff were SO attentive. Nothing was too much trouble, we were extremely well looked after, a party of approx 20. Very happy to recommend the Beefeater, Marsh Mill. Well Done to all the staff that looked after us today. Many thanks. Kid-friendliness: Staff were attentive towards the children in our large group Parking: Very easy to park, my daughter was able to access a Disabled parking space with no problem
Ian, The waiter serving us, was supurb. Quick, polite, funny, memory of an elephant. He had all our orders, 11 of us, correct, by memory alone. I, unfortunately had a cold meal. Without a seconds hesitation, it was swapped, without any suggestion of irritation, most unusual these days. If all waiters were like this, dining out would be more of a pleasure. I don't know her name, but the lady on front of house was also excellent. She helped my son, who was in a wheelchair, to get seated. Once again, nothing too much trouble. This was for the 1st Oct. 8pm. Many thanks. A good evening.
