Had a lovely experience here. I ordered the bacon, Brie and cranberry panini which was absolutely delicious- lots of bacon too! Lovely relaxed atmosphere and the staff were all very friendly and quick to attend to and serve us! I’m looking forward to coming again!
An exceptional tearoom that's ideal for an afternoon tea after a long day of shopping and touring. We ordered the teapot with two scones. The tea was full-bodied but the scones were particularly yummy... fluffy and velvety. A must visit!
We celebrated my Grandma's 93rd birthday. We had three special afternoon teas. She had the best day. A huge thank you to the staff who took photos for us, served delicious food a d was approachable to ask for anything. Afternoon tea consisted of delicious sandwiched of a great size. Scones were so soft with jam and clotted cream. Fruit and plain scones. Variety of cakes. Lots of pots of tea. Relaxing piano music playing during our visit. Parking: Parked in the main car park opposite the Abbey. 2 hours max for £4. Disabled parking is 3 hours free. 5 Disabled spaces. My Grandma was in a wheelchair so had a fair walk to the venue of where we were going. It's a bit of a hill. Wheelchair accessibility: The venue is wheelchair friendly. Downstairs toilet wheelchair friendly.
An interesting experience. The wife had a cream tea which was nice and she enjoyed it. This is not my thing so I got some chips which were cooked to hell and was like eating HP pencils. I didn't eat them and asked not to pay for them when leaving. I was asked what was wrong with them which I thought was a little embarrassing. I explained they were over cooked and really not nice to eat. She did apologise and refund them. It was clear I wasn't touching the chips for the 45 minutes we were in the cafe so feel a bit annoyed I wasn't asked if the food was okay etc. I wouldn't go back here... sorry.
Such a cute place! All of the waitresses were so lovely and polite, and the uniform is a stunning detail. We were seated straight away, and served quickly. The food was delicious and the coffee tasted amazing. Definitely planning to come back for cake soon Food: 5/5
Giving 5 stars because your food is lovely and your staff are some of the most hard working I've come across. They are simply rushed off their feet because this is such a popular venue and they all deserve extra recognition and probably a raise too! for maintaining a friendly composure and upholding etiquette whilst dealing with the Saturday rush. Seriously recommend the tuna melt!!!
Don't blame the staff, they are young and looked like they tried their best. Had eggs Benedict, my goodness where do I start? Eggs were cold and hard boiled, but was very watery, served on a few spinach leaves and a soaky wet muffin, but please let us not forget the crumble of bacon and onions on the top yes onions on egg Benedict, quite a strange taste and not one I would like again. Lots of direction needed.
I ordered a cafetiere of the house blend coffee and toast and marmalade with butter. Frankly the coffee was undrinkable and a second provided for me with two scoops of coffee was little better. It was quite the worst cup of coffee I have ever tasted. I used to use Harriets quite a lot re pandemic and always much enjoyed the coffee there. But something now is terribly wrong. My other admittedly minor gripe was the butter was so hard that it was almost impossible to spread on the toast. On the plus side the staff were very peasant and attentive. But they do need a decent product to serve.
We visited Harriet's tea room in Bury St Edmunds for breakfast. The breakfast was good, hot and plentiful. We were however surprised to see dirty carpets, dirty seats and dirty toilets. This really made us feel uncomfortable and we won't visit again. Vegetarian options: We are vegan and the breakfast was very tasty.
Came here with my wife her mother and father for mother in laws 83 birthday. A lovely cream tea & friendly staff I have missed a star only because the disabled toilet was out of use and it is impossible for me to climb stairs to other toilets but I'm sure that's not a regular occurrence would definitely come again
