What a Chippy food was fabulous and fresh . Ordered gluten free fish and chips large one kids portion is the small one. Just ring half hour before so gluten free can be cooked fresh. My treat on a week away it never disappoints. Price wise it is what it is and you definitely get a good feed .
Hands down one of the tastiest chippies we've ever had, cod was fresh and the batter so light and the chips were fantastic too. Prices were on par with other chippies near the sea but with the taste these were totally worth it! Highly recommended to anyone passing through or staying in Harlech!
Excellent Fish & Chips Shop. Food cooked to order, great quality and plenty of it. Staff are brilliant and so very friendly and helpful.
Thought I would treat the family with some fish and chips instead of cooking some pasta while camping. BIG MISTAKE! The picture shows a large portion of chips which doesn't even come half way up the box. To make things worse the chips look grey and soggy. The fish batter was soggy and was a bit like peeling wet wall paper. No crispy batter here! There is a picture of the soggy batter. For this treat it cost £24 2large fish and chips and 2 kids fish and chips plus 20p for ketchup sachets. Ketchup sachets are so annoying. Wish I had saved my money and had pasta. Kids wouldn't eat up and they aren't fussy eaters. Was like eating slimy batter. Strangely even though I was the only one ordering in the shop he shouted out my order number and waited for me to find my ticket. He said he needed it and annoyingly I could not find it. He said after a minute it was OK. Customer service was frosty and slightly too serious for a chippy, no jokes or light hearted chat here. AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT AND AVOID THIS PLACE. Stick to your own cooking. What a shame!
Great fish & chips. Freshly cooked by friendly staff and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
First fish and chips in very long time and very welcome! Friendly service and reasonable prices. A basic gluten free range with care taken to prepare it without cross contamination. We will return!
Due to mixed reviews I didn’t know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. The portion of chips was tasty and neither measly or gargantuan - albeit there were lots of 'bits'. The fish was cooked very nicely and was larger than average. At £5.50 Sept 21 it was about what you would expect to pay; no complaints there. However I decided not to chose the gluten free option as at £9.50 ! I thought it would be healthier, both physically and economically to just remove the batter. My local chippy offers gluten-free at no extra cost. The staff were neither friendly or surly but betrayed the normal world weariness on display in similar establishments. Overall good enough to go back.
Absolutely gorgeous fish and chips would highly recommend
This fish is very good tasty and fresh the peas are also very good as is the gravy the chips were a bit dry but the fish made up for that so it's a 5 for me
Quality of food is acceptable, if not great. What really spoilt my visit was the behaviour of the staff— rude, confrontational and verging on aggressive. This wasn’t to me, but to a couple of youngsters who, very politely, queried their order as an item had not been included. The response of the staff was, frankly, appalling. Full credit to those children who kept their cool, though visibly upset, and had to leave without the food they’d obviously paid for earlier. I won’t be returning here, though previously a regular customer on my visits to Harlech.
