I have never been to this pub before. At the bar was a Thatchers Haze bar mat so I asked for a pint of that, to which the bar maid rudely said ‘as you can see we don’t sell that’, rather than say, sorry we don’t have that but we do have…….. Will not be going in this pub again with such rude service. I asked what rose wine they have that wasn’t sweet and she clearly didn’t know as was offered a Zinfandel which is sweet as hell
A classic country pub -- a bit worn but the log fires keep it warm and the customers and staff all seem friendly. I just stopped for a coffee which was on the expensive side, so can't comment on the food. I'm giving it five stars because it's important to support country pubs, many of which are closing these days. These places are important for the local community as well as people, like me, who are passing through and don't want to prop up the non-tax paying multinationals who dominate our motorway networks.
Went to watch the rugby. The signal in the main bar wasn't working so looked in the back bar to see if it was showing in there. The Miserable Barmaid asked "Yes, can I help you?" Me: "I wondered if you were showing the rugby in here" MB: "There's a screen in there!" Me: "It's not working" MB: I'VE RESET IT TWICE. I DON'T CONTROL THE INTERNET!" Awful customer service but I've given an extra star because they've got rid of the smell of sick by the toilets.
Such a cool pub! We saw a guy playing music outside and it was great! Good food and good beer. Nice!
Good basic pub. Would go here again. Plenty of space inside and out to enjoy a drink with friends.

Great night out on Christmas Eve, just make sure if anyone is coming in before 11 is given an wristband, i was not given one I arrived around half 10 and about half 11, somebody said that I couldn’t served unless I had a wristband which I didn’t and it made me upset. Please make sure you offer anyone that arrives on a busy night a wristband, i still had a good night but when the lady told me that I had to a wristband, it upset me, it was still good service but just make sure it is consistent with wristbands that would be appreciated. Thank u N.B. I don’t want to be too harsh on the bar staff hence why it is 4 stars as the service was very good before it
