Not sure I go back. It was empty due to bank holiday the place had a very strong damp smell about it. They set round tables up as square ones look odd but that's not the reason I won't go back the food wasn't to my liking. Felt a bit rushed asking for the food order when we just sat down then come back after a bit and we was still reading the menus clearly you can see we are still reading which tells you no. From the minute we walked in to when we got the starters the music CD kept jumping and reapting the same song which I found frustrating. I had to ask them to please change the music. Staff very friendly. Because the place was empty you notice thease things. Being rushed damp smell and the music just gave me the hump. Can't say the food was bad but I've had better.
Used to go in here regularly when it was the Happy Meeting and saw it deteriorate in service and food quality over the year to the point we stopped going. I saw it had changed hands and changed name so thought we'd give it a go for my birthday 15/08/2016 we I feel like a stuffed pig as the food was gorgeous and much too much to eat. Wasn't the cheapest meal I've ever had but really enjoyed it. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and very friendly. A large party of Chinese customers were dining in the restaurant at the time so clearly the Chinese community are using it which is always a good sign. Thoroughly recommended
Been using this restaurant for over a year once or twice a week so had a load of meals there. The food is excellent. and service can be a bit slow when busy. Last week 1st Feb.2018 went there had a coke and a starter then waited 20-25 minutes for waiter to take my main coarse order. The place wasn't busy. After all this time waiting I decided that I had waited long enough so paid for the food I had eaten and left. If this is the way they treat a regular then I'm amazed. I will not be going back. It's a real shame because the food is so good.
Well. First of all it was cold like see your breath type cold. The food dishes were small and so bland we actually went out after and got some food at a local shop. 3 different members of staff tried to take our order although we had already given it and they kept trying to force drinks on us. It also smelt kind of gross up the stairs and in the place kind of like an old cat lady lived there. The service charge is automatically added and we actually asked to have it removed on the basis that we waiting over half an hour after our started for our main.... overall not good food, not good service, not a good smell and not a good wait.
Went on an impromptu date and how we ended up here I'll never know. When we went in were told "sit at the round table" out if 20 tables 10 were round and apparently we chose the wrong one. The waitress had an unbelievable cob on and her attitude did not improve. We should have left so many times. After a 10/15 minute wait in a fairly empty restaurant our waitress came over and said "what do you want?" We had no drinks, no menus nothing. We ordered some drinks and had a look at the menu, I have no idea why Chinese menus have to be so complicated, we only wanted a couple of things, but to be honest I thought the moody waitress might never come back if we didn't hurry up and order, she queried our order, and insisted I should probably order more I obviously can't ascertain my own hunger levels. The food was with us within 10-15 mins, this made us nervous as it was obviously not freshly prepared the "ribs" looked like a spine covered in fat, to find meat on it was a struggle, the black bean sauce was watery. The aromatic duck was shredded table side by our grumpy waitress, taking time out whilst I waited to yell at her colleague. The cucumber was weirdly dry, how? I genuinely can't get over how stroppy the waitress was, the atmosphere obviously didn't improve from that but everything from decor to service was shoddy. AND THEN THEY AUTO ADD 10% SERVICE CHARGE!!!!!!!! Let your customers decide if you deserve a tip, *SPOILERS* you don't! Massive waste of a night out. ALSO discovered the next day that they slipped us an old pound coin in our change, blooming cheek!
TERRIBLE SERVICE!! took ages to ask for drinks, The prawn crackers tasted aweful as they must have been cooked in very old oil, i asked for some fresh ones which were much better. Food was bought out to four of us, the other two were given their rice only and no main dish. We waited for well over 15 minutes and had to ask eventually. Had to ask for more drinks. They messed up the bill All in all spoilt our evening. I will not be returning here!!
Main food was ok, but all the sauces tasted similar and quite vinegary even the soy sauce tasted of vinegar. The onions and peppers with the mains seemed to be pretty much raw. Starters didn't have a lot of flavour. Bit confusing ordering as it said on the menu 'Sunday unlimited all you can eat buffet until 4pm' but we were told we couldn't have that. Same few songs kept playing over ... We heard one of them 4 times! Have been here in the past when it was Happy Meeting and it was much better. The empty table next to us had plates with left over food on that weren't cleared for a v long time. First waiter seemed very confused.
First time for us to pay a visit to this Chinese restaurant and what can I say. Was lovely actually. The food was tasty, came to the table nice and hot and well presented. 4 stars as I think that they need to change the carpet or give it a deep clean, otherwise a good experience all in all.
Jesus christ, don't bother. Food is fine but they'll take forever to bring it out. It won't all come out at the same time if there's more than two of you. Also you'll ask for the bill and they'll be as confused as if a toddler had taken your order. We have been sitting here for over 30 mins as they forget that we exist. Save yourself the hassle and get a take away. They will definitely not get your order right and then ask you to pay a £10.50 service charge on any order.
Don't waste your time with this Chinese restaurant. Group of us went on a Saturday and it was sooooo cold in the restaurant to the point we could've worn our coats. It smelt damp in the restaurant, for a Saturday it wasn't very busy. Long wait inbetween courses didn't clear the table. We had set menu for 5 people and received 1 bowl of rice to share between us along with our 4 main dishes we even added one from msin menu and noodles. We probably had 1 spoon of each dish definitely wasn't full!!! Paid and left and when we left the walls going down the stairs felt damp. Wouldn't go back
