FRESH INGREDIENTS AND SUPER YUMMY HOTPOT My parents came to visit from overseas so we booked Sunday for lunch at Happy Lamb for a party of 6 and it was so so yummy! We ordered the non-spicy chicken broth and the hot and sour cabbage broth. Both were great, the cabbage one definitely had a kick! We ordered LOADS of extras but ended up only paying £180 despite also ordering a bottle of red wine! It was really really great value for money and super clean, well-organized tables! No complaints whatsoever! I will definitely be coming back. Staff was very friendly and quick as well! The shrimp paste is to die for as well as everything else
Nice food and service, but completely not set up to handle large groups. We were a table of 9 admittedly large for hotpot and the table was basically a semicircle booth, with the food on trays at the “opening” of the table. The result was that only two people had access to the food at any point, which makes for not a great hotpot experience. The pots also aren’t particularly large and for these tables there is just one pot with two sides for 9 people. By the end half the table was still hungry. For the price, I wouldn’t consider it to be a good experience or value for money. The broths were great and the meats, fish and veg seemed fresh so if you’re in a group of 4-5 people you might have a better experience than we did. The staff were very nice. Kept up regular top ups of the broth whenever we asked, which was appreciated.
Nice hot pot restaurant, with fresh ingredients and tasty broth. It's better to book a table, as it's a busy restaurant. Didn't enjoy the fact of having just one hour and half to eat, it makes you look to the clock instead of relaxing and enjoying your meal. The service could be improved, the staff is not proactive to come to your table to take your order, you need to call them. Good food quality/price. Vegetarian options: Suitable for vegetarians. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible by wheelchair.
This is a quick review. I love hot pot. You simply choose your selection of meats, fish and vegetables and you cook it in a broth of your choice. I have been a few times now to Happy Lamb and for me it’s no longer a novelty but a great dining experience. The staff are friendly and attentive. If you don’t know something about how it works, they are super helpful without making you feel stupid for asking. It’s a great choice for multiple guests and they can accommodate easily. I would book beforehand as it can get super busy. Cooked lamb skewers are absolutely delicious and I highly recommend!
One of the best hotpot restaurants in London. Good quality food and ingredients. Suitable for anyone who loves flaming spicy or mild diet. Friendly and helpful staff though they’re busy most of the time. Clean and spacious seatings. Children friendly. Quite busy restaurant even at off-peak time. Definitely need to improve the reservation system.
Amazing hotpot restaurant with a very unique menu! Very tasty soup base and fresh ingredients. Overall a great experience. Sadly they only offered us with around 1 and a half hours for the table but they were generous enough to offer additional 15mins. A nice venue, clean and comfy to enjoy dinner at. Good service and decent price overall. Definitely recommended as I’d say this is one of the best hotpot places in London!
Good food, nice and clean environment and reasonable price. We spent £32 per head and the food was plenty enough. They provide kids highchairs and tableware if you come with little ones. The service though, was a be cold, you need to call the staff all the time as they don't come to serve you proactively. Doesn't feel like they are happy working there... Another note, they don't have pork in their menu and you need to pay for your dips such as basic soy sauce which normally free elsewhere.
Such a cool, unique dining experience - great fresh ingredients to be shared with friends or family ideally. I highly suggest the medium spicy pot for those who can tolerate spicy food. Would definitely love to visit again and highly recommend this place to anyone.
first time trying this place and it was a lovely experience, staff were super accommodating to our needs and there was more than enough food for all of us. the meats tasted pretty standard for the price you pay and we loved their rich tomato broth. we went during the weekend and were allotted a 1.5 hour slot which was understandable but it also felt a little rushed towards the end, so i'd recommend going at a different time. would definitely come again
1st Revision of the reply. I don't think you will care as I see many same complaints about how you kick your customer without a respect & basic customer service. Good luck to your business, now days customers service are the main key of many successful business.. I won't ever return to your restaurant. Your made our special occasion awkward. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's look grand outside but worst than Chinatown. These day Chinatown are much more better. Don't go if you have special occasion / celebration. Extremely bad service and so disappointed on their restaurant policy. We book at 9pm for my daughter birthday dinner. We waited for 30 minutes and get to our table at 9.30pm. We asked to order everything in one. I understand that when we booked the table they had informed us few time that will close at 11 pm. As we arrived at 8.30 pm but the table was not ready. You failed to get our table at 9pm. Your staff came to me at 10.30pm forcing us get out at 11 pm. We trying our best to finish all the dishes, after 5 minutes your staff came again to informed us to leave. After another 5-10 minutes you sent me the bill with total in about £450. It's ok I'm still very patience on this treatments, the only thing I request is take off the service charge. The lady came to me asking me why take off the service charge and I told her I am not happy on your treatment, she refused to take off the service charge. I told her you like it or not I have my right for not paying the service charge. Finally she was not happy to accept to take off the SC. Terrible experience in my life eating in restaurants. Never in my eating list again..
