Would you like to pay more money and receive worse service? Do you want an extra £25 a month fee added to your account for no reason. - If so don’t worry apparently it is standard practice at the Darlington Handelsbanken and most definitely not the staff being awkward if you don’t immediately respond to their information requests. Perhaps you would like to enter your own personal version of Alcatraz. They won’t let you leave for any reason. Submit not one but 11 separate requests to move branch to no avail, because the bank branches you were with previously actually believed in sorting things out and responding to emails. Want every single transaction to be done the most expensive way possible – great because standard payments won’t ever be enabled on your account. You will even get an annual meeting where you can raise this so your account manager has the opportunity to ignore you face to face. As an extra bonus there is no limit to the number of issues you can raise and get told “I will need to look into that for you” only for the issues never to be looked into. Moving to the branch from outside the area – don’t worry your transfer will rapidly be sorted out in a mere 5 months. If you want a bank that has no intention of following what the customer actually wants. Then Handlesbanken Darlington is the place for you! The Darlington branch will consistently tell you they will look into things and then just do what they were going to do originally anyway as if you hadn’t spoken to them. ***** I had good time with Handlesbanken at two other branches before moving to Darlington - however the Darlington branch were a nightmare from start to finish. The standard of service I received at the other branches was significantly better than the Darlington branch. Handlebanken are good if more expensive than some other banks. However, do not use the Darlington branch. Do not move to this branch go to another branch. I originally requested Northallerton – I was contacted by a member of the Darlington branch who told me Northallerton was not suitable as it was only open two days a week. This it turns out is factually untrue and repeated requests to the Darlington branch to move me to the Northallerton branch were ignored.
