One of the most busiest tube stations with loads to do within walking distance!
Hammersmith tube station is a great interchange between a network of buses Located on the upper floor, and the Piccadilly district lines on the ground floor. To get to the Hammersmith and city line you need to cross the road to a separate tube station. There is all manner of little shops and a large Tesco and they’re often interested in art installations within the space. Yesterday I found a crazy giraffe with balloons. Fabulous!
Firstly: please note there are TWO Hammersmith stations. They are around 150 metres apart. To access the one serving the district and piccadilly line you have to go to the Broadway shopping centre where there are two entrances. The pictures I have provides are of that station. The other station marks the start of the metropolitan and circle lines.
Two entrances reducing overall traffic and some shops along the way. Good connections to the more central parts of London. It is also situated in one of most gentrified neighborhoods of London.
Gorgeous station, one of the tube's first extension by the way, built in the second half of the XIX century. Only Hammersmith & City and Circle services stop on this spot
Very busy Station but well managed.
Worst organised station in London information are always wrong staff always bit useless mainly stock to the phones all the time
The bus station is on top of the shopping centre accessible by escalators and lifts. The facilities are pretty basic but thete is a large covered area with a number of seats. Signage isn't that good and not all stops have electronic displays
One star less for no tunnel to switch between stations
A lot of shops and buses are always on schedule
