Purchased a battery for my daughters car. Richard the Hartlepool Halfords employee, was very professional, took time to listen, gave good advice, asset to Hartlepool Halfords... Not the cheapest, but the products are always extremely good quality, with a wide variety, with very good guarantees. The opening hours are always very handy, as they are usually open till late... I needed a battery for my Range Rover and was dealt with by Elliot from beginning to end. He went through the choices of battery and then introduced me to the paid up version of Halfords motor club and all the benefits it would bring me on this transaction alone never mind throughout the year. I paid up and made great savings instantly including the free fitting of my battery. We then went out to the car where Elliot professionally and confidently stripped back bars, wiring, clamps and the old battery and then methodically installed the new battery and put everything back together. I had thought I’d buy a battery and change it myself but watching the whole operation it was clear that I couldn’t. To say Elliot is an asset to Halfords is an understatement and it was reassuring to receive excellent customer service when many companies offer none.
Called into Halfords Teesbay retail Hartlepool to get new wiper blades for my wife’s car. I knew they were 26 inch and 16 inch so used the Halfords tablet to put in the reg number I got a lot of choices as you might expect. I picked two Bosch wiper blades and was stood wondering if I should get the Bosch twin aero when a female member of staff I’m sorry I didn’t get her name and forgive the description but she had red hair. She tactfully asked if I needed any help and then explained the difference between the three different type of Bosch blade, the metal the plastic and the ones with different clips, they all looked the same to me. Thankfully she guided me to the correct blades and fitting them at home was a breeze. I’m sure left to my own devices I would have to make a trip back to the store to change to the ones I had chosen. Having come across staff who can’t be bothered or walk away when approached it is refreshing to meet someone who is helpful without been pushy and you can tell genuinely enjoys her job and was knowledgeable and professional. Having helped me she walked over to help someone else and I checked out with another member of staff.
No complaints about product. Member of team was disinterested and actually yawned at me. I asked a question about car stereos and he said he didn't have a clue. I asked if I could speak to someone who would know, and he said the guy is not in today. Offered no help at all. Customer service not at all good.
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Sorted and fitted wiper blades and gave advice on screen wash. Saved me £5 by joining Halfords Motoring Club
