Went there for Service and MOT and they failed the MOT and did not do the service as said no point.nnThe failures were:n1 Airbag warning lightn2 A couple of exhaust CO2 or something along those lines not meeting the pass criterian3 The headlights were not clear.nnThey recommended a local garage to fix the fault. We went there and the guy there was really welcoming. Here is item by item what he said or what was done.n1 The passenger airbag was switched off because my wife carries the child seat on the front seat. The Halfords guys could not be bothered to check that even though the On/Off switch was right next to the ignition switch and in the Off position.n2 When the guy from the garage checked, he said the Halfords people are idiots. There was no oil in the car and also they tested it with the engine cold which is not how you test the exhausts as the catalytic converter needs to be warm to work well.nHe did the servicereplaced the oil, fired up the car and after a couple of minutes of the engine running it passed the exhaust test. He said that what they should have done is do the service first and then do the MOT after warming up the engine first.n3 He polished the headlights in like 10 minutes, which is something that MOT garages have done for us in previous years for a fee of course, but without failing and returning to us.nnOn top of all of the above, when we picked up the car after it failed, the guy at the reception said that they do retests every day at 5 PM and we can just come in, no need to call or book.nWhen I came, after initially telling me that it would be fine, after nearly half an hour of waiting, the guy came out and said that I did not have a booking for a retest on that day and they could not take me in.nnAll in all the customer experience at this place was really bad and the people performing the MOT seemed really incompetent or at least lazy.nI will not be visiting that Halfords ever again and I cannot recommend it in any way, shape or form.
book 2 tyre to be replace @ 14.30 pm But tyre never arrive at Halford Longwell Green. Waste My afternoon!
Booked my car in here for an MOT after being let down badly by a garage opposite. Paul Garland and the Team were knowledgeable, welcoming, friendly and helpful. Sat in the warm and dry with a hot drink whilst my MOT was carried out.nnOverview,nnGreat value, quick, polite and friendly. Will definitely be using again for our other vehicles and would recommend without hesitation to anyone in the area.nnThanks again Paul.
I went to Halfords to purchase new number plates for my car.nThey were very helpful, efficient and did a good job.nI would recommend them.
Popped into Longwell Green not realising they don’t sell parts - only wanted dust cap which they gave me - thank you - great customer service!
