We liked it so much we made sure to stop in a second time before leaving the area. The Fried Brie starter was amazing. For main dishes we had the Mushroom Ravioli, Sausage Trio, and the Guinea Fowl Special. All were well prepared and delicious. There was fireplace that was very cozy to sit next to. Reservations are recommended as it fills up quick .
Lovely pub, nice atmosphere, lady serving was very welcoming. Brought treats over for my puppy. However I ordered the mushroom ravioli, and when it arrived the ravioli was sat in approx 1cm of garlic oil. The pasta was dark brown and incredibly greasy. Having only eaten a few mouthfuls, when the waiter came over, we explained the issue. He took the plates away and said he would tell the kitchen. When we were presented with the bill, we had been charged the full price for the mushroom ravioli. We questioned this given it wasn’t edible. The waiter said he would speak to management and returned with the bill with £4 deducted. We had still been charged £10 for a something which was inedible. No apology or anything. Other meals pie and Mediterranean Tart were fine. Disappointing customer service given how lovely it could have been.
Beautiful set pub garden, friendly and welcoming staff, great selection of beers, tasty choice of freshly cooked classic pub grub plus a few surprises popcorn cockles are delicious!... The 12oz stakes came perfectly cooked and the kids demolished them!! I'd have taken pics of my dirty pig burger, but was too busy eating it!!
Went there on the 20th August, last evening of our holiday and wish we found The Half Moon sooner. Great place, really friendly and welcoming. Staff were great and couldn’t of been more helpful and friendly. Food was fantastic even the kids loved it all.
A superb Sunday lunch cooked perfectly and the Yorkshire’s were clearly homemade and very good.myself and my daughter had the gammon which was super tasty and my mum said the chicken was great . We had the apple crumble for pudding with custard and it was a massive portion so I didn’t manage to Finish it but it was so tasty. Will definitely be visiting again
Doggie friendly, cosy pub . Good food portions. Such cute, diddy garlic bread. Yummy!Food: 4/5
If there is one thing you should do before you keel over is go to The Half Moon and try their food. They have amazing customer service from the get go, great COVID regulations, ths canopee was such a lovely atmosphere with beautiful lights and fire heaters. Wildflowers and brilliant music. Such a lovely atmosphere all round and the food was to die for. It was absolutely delicious and we are definitely going back. Hopefully every year! Thank you for an amazing experience and unforgettable anniversary <3
We choose here for a family Sunday roast get together. Parking is free and available at front and around back of the pub. Dishes we choose were the big daddy and chicken roast, the dishes were a decent size and couldn't fault the meals , only comment which is minor were the portions of custard for buddings and gravy but we ask for extra servings for both which they were happy to do without fuss. Owners were polite and pub is a dog friendly. They have a back outdoor area . I recommend you book your table as they were fully booked and some customer had to use garden which is all well when it's dry and sunny. Finally budding, the fudge cake I thought was the best option. Reason for 4 and not 5 star was the fruit crumble I.e apple and Berry had no Berry and custard serving which they did fill up . This place is a worth visiting and in a quiet area without assle of parking . Thanks guys
Nice service and fair prices. The only criticism were chips slightly undercooked, and pork belly for the tagine had the texture of being grilled separately and added to the stew after. It should be soft and easy but it was tough more like crispy bacon.Food: 3/5
Really lovely, friendly staff, made to feel very welcome, particularly our dog! Relaxed atmosphere. Food is excellent; popcorn cockles were very moreish! Large garden, with a choice of covered or uncovered tables.
