This place should be closed down..the Psychiatrists are neglecting patients and there duty of care is immoral and degrading..staff getting patients and there visitors mixed up..patients have to eat there food with a wooden spoon..the cleaner thinks it's ok to mop the floors then the sofas with same mop and water..staff just sit in office on there phones and most of them don't even understand English..i was in there after taking a massive overdose which i stayed in icu for 2 weeks and the result was heart failure and stage one acute kidney injury and they just did not care..I had a review and then was taken to oldbury housing as i was made homeless after the o.d and the female member of staff was asked by a housing officer if I had somewhere to stay that night and she said yes hallam street so he done the forms then she phoned hallam Street to book us a taxi back and they said just you to the member of staff..I'd been discharged on to the streets without even being told..absolutely disgusting..karma dr khalil
I was discharged and stripped of all medication even though i had told the staff my plans to overdose if i went home. I went home and overdosed now in new cross hopital waiting on a bed in a different hospital. Auful treatment worse than being a prisoner.
I have only reported breaking in by my neighbours I was placed on section 3 and the Doctor had told me I am not her queen so I must take mental health medication.she is Asian Doctor from Bangladesh.the Indian DOCTOR HAD TOLD ME IF I AM A QUEEN I WILL TAKE MEDICATION.THEY HAVE SIGNED 666 FOR SATAN RIGHT IN MY FACE. I AM A PASTOR AND A QUEEN OF THE ENTIRE WORLD SALOME BURGESS.
I am not sure about historical data, but till now i had good experience. Whenever we need some support staff have arranged without any issue.
If you have a family member in this hospital my advice would be to get the dicharged asap they have no clue what they are doing no comunication skills what so ever nobody knows nothing I'm a paramedic and I've never seen such a unfit for perpose staff and placement like it this is why the NHS is a mess
One of the worst service I have received in my life.I had maternity appointment in this hospital. Staff in this hospital not helpfull and polite to the patient. Especially when women is 37+ week pregnant. Its look like staff is undertrained. During the appointment and before making appointment they were informed, I need Maternity certificate. But nurse first refused to provide certificate, when consistly requested, She hand over the certificate after 4 hour wait although it is 5 minute job. She put me on wait for 4 hour. After that she bring the certificate it was incomplete. When told her there is no stamp on it they she put stamp on. The worst thing on the certificate she write down the baby expected date which is un readable and now certifcate is not acceptable. Any body please see the photo and let me what is the date mentioned on the certificate. To be honest...............
I recently had a placement at the larches in Hallam Street Hospital and it was brilliant. They have amazing, hard-working staff who treat all of the patients with the upmost respect and dignity. The building is very clean and a nice space for patients. I had an amazing time here as a student nurse and I learnt a lot thanks to the staff. I was made to feel so welcome and everyone equally chipped in to help me with my placement here.
Was there over 4 months being diagnosed with psychosis, didn’t really pay close attention to me, I was aloud perfume bottles etc when I was prone to self harming, night staff was terrible, just stayed in the office laughing with take aways. Wouldn’t give me towels etc when I wanted to personally clean myself. Felt very controlled couldn’t do the littlest things by myself. On the other hand when I was there the apprentice girls was lovely and would make me feel better about myself, do my hair , nails etc. A few other nice day staffs. Overall it was a learning experience and I will try my hardest to not go there again.
My daughter is there at the moment because she is suicidal, yet today she's been allowed to leave the ward unattended to go have tests, had a bath without anybody checking on her and taken a carrier bag in without the contents being checked!!! The staff just sit in the office discussing nights out or doing Avon orders and leave patients standing outside the door, apart from about 3 members of staff nobody acknowledges her. The shower and heating don't work and her doors been broken since she got there so it seems nothing works properly including the staff!! My daughter has had to help an elderly patient at mealtimes as the staff just put meal in front of her without uncovering it and a couple of times without cutlery. I'm hoping that anyday now a bed will become available in Penn so she can move and start on the road to recovery because while she is in Hallam Street I fear she may only get worse :-
NEVER get a call back from the doctor. Only positive thing I have to say is the receptionists all seem lovely. Doctors couldn’t care less about their patients, they’ll never answer you, unless it’s months down the line and you’re due for a review, and that’s just so they can check off their paperwork.
