Do not book if you’re looking for somewhere near Braxted park Awful experience. I booked to come here before my sister-in-laws wedding for a simple hair up. When I arrived, the lady that did my hair did not seem confident and was scrambling to phone another woman who was apparently better at hair up. When I asked if she wasn’t comfortable to do it, I said that we could just style it down and maybe curl it. She said no it was fine, and then continued to sit at reception and answer the phone for about 10 mins while I was just left to sit! She then started working on it dry.. didn’t wash it or attempt to curl it or anything. I hadn’t washed it in 4 days and no one asked me to come with it wet or anything like that so was disappointed when it wasn’t being washed. She then continued to do exactly what I didn’t want - she pulled it back right against my head, put it into 3 sections and plaited them before wrapping them round in a tight bun which stuck out from my head. I asked for loose and sweeping at the front, with it curled and twisted at the back, flat to my head. It was awful, I just wanted to cry. Everyone else in the salon was offered a coffee but me as well and when I got up with tears in my eyes, she didn’t say anything to me - she knew I had a wedding that day and literally didn’t care that she didn’t do what I wanted. I felt like I couldn’t say anything so just left. Do not book here if like me you’re attending a wedding nearby and don’t know the area.
My second time ar Ooh la la. They are so attentive. Three times I was offered a drink. Kind and thoughtful. I am 84, and after suffering a brain haemorrhage I am unable to have hair washed laying back, it didn't faze them a bit. And I felt such a nuisance, but they soon put that right. Claire was the stylist, I can only say her work is superb. Thankyou Ooh la la.
