We, the family of the late deceased, Mr Peter Armstrong, would like to sincerely thank Sylvia and all other staff at H.Bates Funeral Services. The service provided was sensitive, caring, thoughtful and Sylvia ensured that our family had everything taken care of at a time of great sorrow.

When my wife passed away suddenly and unexpectedly there was only one person who I knew my wife would be happy with for us as a family to use for her funeral. This was Sylvia and her excellent team at H Bates as 27 years prior she was the one who helped me and my wife when we tragically loss our youngest son Steven.
The attention to detail was second to none with nothing been too much trouble, she listened and advised with care and compassion and was always there if we needed anything. We would highly recommend H Bates to anyone who finds themselves in such a difficult position as Sylvia really does put everything into making sure the funeral day goes smoothly so we could give my late wife the send off she deserved.

I would like to thank Sylvia and the wonderful people at H. Bates Funeral Services for the exceptional way they arranged and delivered my father-in-law's funeral. The kindness and compassion shown to our family was beyond compare. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The day went without a flaw, church, priest, crematorium, transport and treatment of my father-in-law and family throughout was professional and well presented. Seven months ago I lost my husband. The compassion shown for my husband, myself, daughter and son words alone can not describe. If you can have a lovely funeral, Sylvia and her amazing team truly achieved this. Thank you Sylvia for your exceptional, professional and caring service you provided.

I have recently found myself in the position  of arranging my mother's funeral as it was just too much for other family members to deal with at the time. We can't express enough gratitude for the care and dignity that Sylvia and her team gave my mum and my family at this very difficult time. Everything was organised to perfection giving my mum the most perfect farewell. Sylvia and her team were very kind and considerate and nothing was ever too much for her no matter what time of day it was. We as a family will be forever  grateful for her service. I would highly recommend  H Bates to anyone who is unfortunate enough to have to arrange a funeral as she made a very difficult time that little bit easier. Also the remembrance booklet given  to my dad was a beautiful touch and something to treasure.
