A few friends and I travelled down from Yorkshire to visit Guitar Village to continue our mission to visit every guitar shop in the UK. Let me tell you, they don't disappoint! Super friendly, great selection. Definitely a store you can travel far away from and it will be worth the journey.
If you are a guitarist, this place is your heaven. Fantastic selection of all types of guitar. Helpful staff and relaxed atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit whether to buy or just try.
Very friendly staff. Gave my guitar the once over before it was sent out - it arrived safely and quickly and was ready to play straight out of the box. THE best experience with an online/mail order guitar yet... although I hope to visit in person someday! The next guitar will definitely be purchased here. Thank you :-
An outstanding level of service very rarely seen today. We had ordered a Rathbone guitar from another retailer only later to be told it was out-of-stock and no new delivery date forthcoming, so we a had a ring around to find another dealer. Adam at Guitar Village went out of his way to be helpful, phoning back with updates. He sourced the model we wanted from the manufacturer and it arrived just a few days from ordering, on overnight UPS courier. Competitively priced too. We couldn't be happier - super guitar too!
One of the very best guitar shops. Every time I've gone in even if I've made it very clear I'm not buying anything that day they've always been welcoming. Me and my friends have bought quite a few bits of kit from them and the QA they put the guitars through even cheaper ones mean they always play great. Never picked up an instrument there with sharp fret ends, horrible action etc Best staff and best products
Went here today for the first time. I used to live near here and always thought it was a little local shop. All I can say is omg I was so wrong. It’s absolutely packed with all types of guitars and amps for all budgets and the staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The old building itself is also lovely with beams and wobbly floors. Just pop through a tiny doorway and behold yet more stunning guitars. Highly worth a visit.
I just received my Eastman T386 classic bought thanks to the Web. Everything was fine. The guitar is beautiful exactly the same as on the pictures and the shipping service from England to France was perfect no damage & quick. Thanks to the guitar village team. I would like to get the chance to visit your store one day ;-
Mamouth selection of guitars, both electric and acoustic with staff who get the balance perfect of giving assistance Vs leaving you to explore & try out. Just when you think you've seen it all, you discover the stairs that take you up to an incredible floor filled, literally, from roof rafters to floor with some 9f the finest new and vintage well loved and restored guitars. Little side rooms, that you have to bow before entering were people really that short centuries ago?, contain even more varies and places to try out guitars. When so much of life is online these days, it is a treat to shop in a grade listed building packed neatly with so much variety. And have I mentioned the staff? Not enough. They're truly wonderful. Friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Recommended. Bonus: beautiful historic town to boot!
I can sort of understand why the guitars are locked up. I can’t understand why certain guitars can’t even be accessed without having to climb up to the rafters, or why some are kept behind locked doors in odd display cases. Guitars are made to be played. If GV are so concerned that their instruments are going to be stolen or damaged, perhaps they shouldn’t run a shop? It’s an entirely different experience at other well known boutique stores. I was excited to go to GV, but the layout is so frustrating, and the poor accessibility to guitars means you have to have an escort just to be able to feel what a guitar is like - and that’s really boring. The staff are friendly enough - though there seems to be one older gentleman and then some younger men who sit downstairs at the desk. Experienced buyers and players will find the experience frustrating. Perhaps it’s best to search their stock online first and then call to ask for them to be ready to be played? Still, where’s the fun in that? I made my impulsive guitar purchase elsewhere.
Fantastic choice of guitars and the staff are so helpful. They provided lots of advice when my son was choosing his first electric guitar. Really impressed and definitely recommend.
