A gem of a cafe in the Peak District. Good hearty food and very reasonable prices. Nice walks on the doorstep too. Well known for their chip butties, and the breakfast is excellent too. Nice to get hot drinks in good sized mugs too.
Amazing place beautiful surroundings. Didnt eat at the cafe just a drink. But the food coming out for other looked amazing. Walked down the gorge from Padley. We'll worth it.
Really nice cafe, very good value. Let down on our visit today, Sunday 21st August by a large group of motor bikers, swearing loudly, belching, smoking. Was lovely when they left although they didn't leave quietly, revving their engines for minutes then speeding off , just a bad group of people, usually loads of decently behaved bikers, been a few times before, no problems.
Stopped off here the other week for breakfast and could not fault it. Lovely staff and prices are great. Will definitely be coming again
We had a lovely few hours here. Access to Padley Gorge and a woodland /Riverside walk just a little further down the path. We enjoyed sitting outside the cafe after a short walk along the river. Food was great and very reasonably priced and the trains coming through entertained our 8 year old so much, he said it was his favourite part of our trip! Its cash only which wasn't a problem, great chips and sandwiches, would definitely recommend!
Great little cafe with ample seating inside and out, with an open fire for warmth. An extensive menu of sandwiches and hot food. My wife and I can highly recommend the caramel brownies and the table next to us had chip butties the size of your head. While I can't say how good the butties were, for just over £3 you get your money's worth in volume. Marked to 4 stars purely as it's cash only, so we ended up not getting as much to eat as we had planned. Though it does provide an excellent reason to go back! Update 1/8/22 - £3.20 for a chip bitty; plate of chips and a bread roll/cake...bargain and very filling! My niece had a ham sandwich which was full to the brim for just under £4. Doesn't matter that it's cash only, you get large portions to good, simple food at an excellent price.
Great little café and service was good too. Got loads of atmosphere with the old railway memorabilia. Well worth a visit Food: 4/5
An iconic Derbyshire, landmark! Who hasn't been to beautiful Padley Gorge just to experience the great food and drinks at Grindleford Station cafe? Great vegetarian options,, kind and generous .
Dog friendly. Walked from Hathersage for late lunch. The food was really good but would have liked a nice coffee to finish off. Food was well priced great quality and big servings. They also serve fresh coffee now not instant.
Absolutely brilliant breakfast thank you, lovely location, great price. Suggestion: hash browns should be included in the full english. Loved the fried bread!!! Only lost a star because car parking was paid for online only/calling a phone number & took ages to work out. Elderly people without a smartphone might struggle. Saw several people struggling to work it out.
